Gotta go with Guerrero, he seems to have just about everything.

RG reached the elite level in my eye once he defeated Malcolm Klaseen a few years back. That was when his girl just got over her cancer problem.

I rated Guerrero highly prior to the Katsidis fight, fair enough MK was made for Guerrero, but Guerrero showed that he was a huge lightweight with solid power, a solid chin and fantastic ring generalship..something that will always beat Maidana. :good

I dont really have a problem with anybody picking Guerrero.... but too many are saying he wins easily. Nobody has ever had an easy time with Maidana. Everybody picked Ortiz to kill him, and most people picked Khan to beat him easily. Neither one happened.

And I dont usually make excuses.... but I think its safe to say that Maidana underestimated old man Morales. He thought Morales was a corpse, and would lay down as soon as he got hit.

Expect Maidana to be up for Guerrero the way he was up for Ortiz, and Khan.

If Guerrero beats him EASILY...... I'll give The Ghost TREMEDOUS credit.

I understand where your coming from, Khan has pretty much no defence when backing up..doesn't know how to clinch and has a shakey chin. Ortiz got into a brawl with Maidana and took a beating.

Guerrero is much cuter(No Manilow) in defence then both Ortiz and Khan. I think he's smarter to clinch and nullify when Maidana get's into range. Marcos will have a hard time getting inside IMO. Guerrero's jabs, straight lefts and ring generalship will give him hell. Forcing him to lunge in with his shots, Guerrero's best punch other then his straight left is his uppercut with either hand IMO, when Maidana lunges in he will get hit with it at will and will be hurt.

It's going to be a great fight no matter which way it goes.

Fair enough. Your analysis is sound, so I cant really hate on you.

But yes, we can agree on the last part. Hard to imagine this NOT being a great fight. DEFINITELY the best fight of the summer.

Guerrero and Maidana wont pose and stare at eachother for 12 rounds like two certain heavyweight pussies did in July.

BoxingAnalyst.... I suspect it could end similar to the Khan fight. With Guerrero outboxing Maidana for most the fight, probably even scoring a KD..... then Maidana rallying late and Guerrero nearly getting taken out, but holding on.

NO ONE from 135-147 would have an easy time with Maidana, unless your name is Manny or Floyd. He might be crude but he throws with volume from all angles, and puts venom into each shot. You have to walk through fire to beat a guy like that.

You should have said nobody from 135-140. At 147, Ortiz would likely destroy him in a rematch. And a guy like Mike Jones would be entirely too big for him.

I dont really care so much who wins this fight. I just wanna see the winner fight Rios. Rios vs either Maidana, or Guerrero would be a wet dream.

Either that, or the winner fight Lucas Mattyhse. Lord knows Mattyhse deserves another big fight, after getting robbed blind agaisnt Alexandra the fake.

Honestly we have seen RG in with every style there is to see and RG has ALWAYS done well even if he has had SOME problems. Maidana is old news. Hes a basic slugger. RG will handle his pressure by turning (has he does with all pressure fighters) and countering his punches. Look for crisp punches to the body follwed by hard shots up top.

I love RG. About time he steps it up into the big league

I dunno man, I think Maidana still puts up a good fight against Ortiz. He probably loses this time around, but he definitely wouldn't go down easy.

Matthysse vs Maidana would be ****ing immense. Now that's a FOTY candidate if I ever saw one.

he is new to 140 though and maidana is the hardest puncher in the division, maybe guerrero wins but you can never count maidana out at this point.

I never do count Maidana out. Dude can knock out a horse. I just have alot of confidence that RG can handle it. I trutl believe this will be the fight that puts RG in the elite status...which I think he has already met.

RG has always been big for his weight I think 140 will be no different.
