IMO Meehan won't make himself available and or won't be able to fight for the AUST title due to promotional reasons. IMO Cronje will be looking at a regional title....IMO ****** beats the other few guys as will Kurby....but that's just my 2 cents worth
Cronje, decent fighter but is he even australian or south african Zigetti, hasn't beaten anyone of merit lucas browne,2 fights for god sake, and get an aus title shot brett smith, and overweight light heavy with only 1 round in him Kali has walked the aus title path his sights are overseas Ramrod the heavyweight division is so divided right now with the boy's heading in all different directions,I think the whitehead vs kirby matchup is decent pickings considering.I think you should order the williams vs lewis saga,so you can see some great boxing on display.:yep
Your probably write i just cant stand watching a novis fighter like whitehead at the top of auss boxing and please kirby has absolutley no idea how to fight , he hopes the other bloke runs out of gas i cant stand the blokes style, its actually fukd to watch And if anyone sais different there lying they are just waiting to see if another death is going to happen inside the ring the amount of shots he cops he looks like a ****** stuck in cement leaning on the other guy hoping the other bloke gets worn out thats not good to watch mate. the last fight against sol we all sat down hoping he could do the job we all agreed that he was shamefull we all want to no where he trains at to avoid anyone being trained there just an outsiders point of view mate probably mick is a great journeyman but thats it
R/r it appears you really got it in for mik kirby are you one of the opponents that got his assed kicked by him and wondered what happened to your own career!
no mate just sick of seeing the same thing all the time mick could be a good bloke just a bad boxer mate at my age 49 he probably would kick my ass or at least push me around till i fell over sick of big bob to, sick of the poor phillipinos getting beat all the time was sick of mundine sick of danny green mate you sound like a good friend of kirbys the way you posted that y dont you tell to loose the weight and learn to fight
His mad brother david kirby taught him the style :--(an ex kickboxer who use to fight pittbulls then started training fighters but they spit up an now kirby is trained by terry devlin the trainer of scott lewis.
Ram rod look at them names you put up stupid ! the best fight out of them all is the one thats on are you blind?
Mick Kirby can't fight? WTF, ok so he isn't a world beater but he has held the OPBF title and has an avenged points loss to Nathan Briggs, a pretty close points loss against Alex Leapai (who's opted for regional titles over Aussie) and a bad night out against Sol Haumono, when the OPBF title changed hands, ruling big Sol out of Aus. title contention. these are the only blemishes to his 12 fight career. Then lets look at Mr.Whitehead's resume and eligibility, he has a 5-0-0 record, not overly impressive until you take into account he has beaten both Colin Wilson, four time national heavyweight champ and some one bandied as a replacement for this fight on this thread, and a win over Solomon Haumono, the only man to stop the more experienced (in boxing any way) Mick Kirby. Mr. Whitehead backs this up with an extensive, successful pro kick boxing stint. I reckon this isn't a bad match up Rammed by a Rod, both parties come to fight and there have definitely been worse Aus. Heavy Weight Title fights, Your the one that's ridiculous!
A couple of thing mate... Firstly, 'Fearless' Fred Casey won the Aust H/W title in his 3rd bout. A great amateur with Olympic representation. Harold Harwick won the Aust H/W title in his 1st pro bout. Another Olympian. Ron Richards was a Middleweight, who won the H/W title 3 times.... whilst MIDDLEWEIGHT. Tony Mundine won the H/W title, giving away about 30lbs??? Dave Sands won the H/W title whilst a middleweight. Les Darcy won the H/W title whilst a middleweight. ****** Whitehead engaged in a truck load (150????) of amateur bouts. From memory, fighting at the Commonwealth games. He's no novice. There's no depth in the H/W ranks, so the Heavies can only do the best they can. No, Whitehead may not be the most exciting fighter to watch, but he's the current H/W champ, and won the title from a seasoned pro; A former TRIPLE champion.
Lucas Brown is a nobody in the world of boxing. Can you explain why he is in your list and why you rate him as an Aussie Heavywieght Title contender above Kirby and Whithead?
