Golota looked terrible. Needs to retire. Austin bought himself some time. Maybe he could fight the winner of Valuev-Holyfield. He looked terrible even before the injury, smart ass ! watch the fight.. he was knocked down three second in to the fight !
When was the time Golota was not hammered in first round? He always looked terrible in first round, especially in the latest fights where everybody try to knock him out fast. If you noticed Golota didn't used left hand at all from the half of the round and Austin didn't do much damage. The second knock down/slip was exactly due to lack of the left hand and Austin would not have chance to put all these combos if Golotas left jab been working.
Assuming the injury seriously affected the fight outcome, the following may be seen: 1) Austin was fighting smart and with proper game plan. He utilized all Golota weaknesses, and proved he is good fighter with nice movement and speed. 2) Austin is no material for the champion. He had at least two chances to knock Golota out cold, first when Golota turned back to him, second at the end when he couldn't even hurt Golota with all these shots and was almost countered with hard right hand. 3) Golota still is a dumb ass, going into first round totally unprepared and unfocused which makes him vulnerable to any other opponent. 4) The injury may indicate either bad luck or that Golota need retire since his body start to be prone to injuries. 5) Golota is still a tough dude with the mental issues left in the past. Except the injury he was not hurt physically by the shots and tried all the time to knock Austin out with only one hand. So .... Austin probably need to beat one more contender to prove he is still contender. Golota after heal his hand should work hard on his poor performance in the first round, if he do that he may get in title picture very easily.
I'm a "Golota" jocksniffer, and I say its time to hang up the gloves..... Golota was slower than **** and had no reflexes.... Golota is still strong as an Ox, but he has the speed of a 3,000 year old Mummy.... Cheers.... MR.BILL
I agree. I was a fan after his fights against Bowe & I still thought he could do it when he fought Byrd & Ruiz. I thought he won both those fights but after the Brewster spectacle I lost all hope.
if you pay close attention, the combination of punches was exactly the same as Brewster knocked Golota with. Classic punch to the body and then left hook. It's textbook for Andrew. He seems to never learn
Yes, Vitali is much faster than Golota, it's not even close. Vitali would beat Golota by 30 second KO.
This win was big for Austin's career. He should land another meaningful fight after this. I'd like to see him in with Kevin Johnson, Witherspoon, Estrada, Boystov, or any prospect looking to make the jump to contender. Austin is a perfect fit for that.
Both Klit's would KO Golota with ease.......... Nick Valuev would simply outbox Golota over 12 BORING rds... MRBILL:bbb
