Well, another American boxer has come forth with the very same old attitude. Ray Austin has just told Solis " this ain't amateur boxing, it's professional boxing, you score points in the amateurs with fast hands, now Solis is in the big leagues, he has got to take it to the next level ". Don't worry Austin, he will.

Austin also said, " I don't see anything about Solis that impresses me, I've seen the guys he has fought and it looks like they came to lose. It's going to be very different for him when he sees a man going against him that will do anything to win ".

Austin is using the very same old quote that is always used against the Cuban ex-amateurs in " this isn't the amateurs, it's a whole different ball game now ", many have used that quote and have miserably failed to back up their remark against the Cubans. Most recently, Cordoba losing to Rigondeaux...

It seems that Solis has slimmed down at least 13-15 lbs and is looking mighty sharp. That's why the best thing to do is don't say anything and demonstrate your capabilities inside the ring ", because then you lose, get TKO'd and look horrible to the fans ".

On the other side, Odlanier Solis said " this is my job and I take it very seriously, I am not a Boxing fan, this is my work. I don't watch any tapes on Ray Austin nor Vitaly Klitschko, I don't watch any tapes of my opponents I just focus on doing my job to the best of my abilities ".

    Opinions?

Solis wins here. He has great natural boxing ability. I wish he was more dedicated. 15 LBS lighter is good but this guy should be at 230 tops in reality.

After all of Austin's tough talk before the Klitschko fight about being from the 'ghetto' how tough he was, showing up to KO Wlad then the guy gets KOed without Wlad even having to throw his best punch?:rofl:patsch

I don't think much of Solis but he should be able to easily handle Austin.

Austin looked SO crappy against Klitschko that I feel like he's at the point where people actually underrate him. He is the same guy who drew with Sultan Ibragimov and made Touch of Sleep go to sleep. That said, he's also 40, so who knows how much he has left.

what you want him to say "Solis you and your am background is so amazing i am not worthy to be in the same ring" won't really sell the fight would it.
ps solis is a fat waste of talent

and if he can get the weight down, maybe even number two.....

He could b a gentleman or keep his mouth shut, talking $hit doesn't win fights, it make look foolish, more so after a good beating.

dude...MAYBE on talent but even then no

solis is nowhere near top 5, top 10 is ok cause he has an amateur career but without that, you know he wouldn't make the cut

If you're a boxing fan you have to be routing for Solis. Austin had his shot and was demolished by Wlad. Solis brings a new face to the scene ,all be it an over weight one. And his wins over Haye and Ibragimov in the amateurs give some legitimacy to a possible fight with Vitali.

Totally agree, he will stop Austin in less than 6 rounds. OK, so if he really looks impressive against Austin and comes in around 255 pounds will all of you think of him differently?

I know because I know that I know that Solis will definitely impress you guys on December 17, save this post for future references!!! :bbb

No more fat jokes, Solis is the best HV today ...

I would say Cordoba proved his point against the cuban. One of the greatest amateurs of all time struggled like hell against a guy who barely beat Bernard Dunne.

The pros is a whole other ballgame. 12 round fights, smaller gloves
