I think a lot of the Cubans simply don't like boxing. It's just a very polished skill they've been taught that they can make money with. I really don't blame them. Rigo could be an awesome professional if he was interested.

Totally agree with you, Solis brings in a new face and a new breath of fresh air to the very boring Klitschko dominated HV division. Not only that but when Solis starts getting more and more confidence beating the top dogs watch out, because he may very well dominate the HV's until he retires. This guy hardly ever lost a bout at the absolute highest amateur World events and even though that it's slightly different, it's a very solid ground of experience to fall back on.

Plus on top of that, Solis is training with Pedro Diaz which was the Cuban Coach for the National Team for 15 years and the one who helped Solis win so many International events. Talking about confidence, Solis has on his corner his childhood and lifetime Coach !!!

Can't wait for December 17, Austin are you ready ? :bbb

Brother, I don't know which fight you saw cause Rigondeaux was playing with Cordoba in there. He totally dominated him in the first 6 rounds and put him down with a vicious body shot and then even though that he decided to cruise in the last 6 rounds still beat Cordoba in every round. Cordoba didn't know how to find Rigondeaux nor cut off the ring and Rigo made him missed all night long with his punches and always beat him in the counters. So, keeping in mind that was Rigo's only 7th pro fight, fighting an ex-World Champion with over 40 pro fights who was 3 inches taller and a southpaw, Rigondeaux did a great job.

Boxing is Boxing, and I have seen some pros that are worse than the worse amateurs, and amateurs that have way better technique than many top pros. :good

Well, in his recent workout pictures Solis looks a lot thinner. So, I highly doubt that he will be weighing the same cause he knows that this is his opportunity to fight Vitaly next year. He looks around 255 pounds in his recent workout pics! :good

What you are trying to say is that Cubans aren't as dedicated as the other pro boxers and that's right to a certain point. The Cubans love parties, women, drinking and eating and in Cuba they are prohibited from those things and when they get here they want to do what they weren't allowed over there. But Cubans in general, love Boxing actually a lot more than other Countries. :good

Why do you think that Cuba has the most successful amateur program on the Planet ? And they Box for free !!!

Gamboa Express would you have rather him get a shot at Haye first for a title or a Klitschko? Just curios since he beat Haye before, although I haven't seen the fight.

Rigo wasn't playing with Cordoba and didn't win every round either.

you are proving my point by even bringing up that it was only Rigo's 7th pro fight. If amateur and pro is the same, why are you even bringing that up?

BTW, I am a big fan of Rigo, have been from the start.

Philla, I din't c any struggle, what I saw was a cautious fighter after the 6 round, been down for the first time, going 12th for the first time against a World class ex-Champ, who by the way has a win over Caballero (before JL fight) and only his seven fight, common Philla how many fighters you had seen in that same spot?

Solis is a complete fool. A lazy, pampered fat tub of lard.

The sooner he brings in his first loss the sooner he will get to his senses and hopefully improve on his work ethic.
