    overrated right now. I'd like to see him in there with someone with skills who will fight back.

    Right now it seems that 154 has the best fights that could be made potentially in boxing.

    He has good boxing skills but i definitely don't see him beat the likes of Cotto, Lara, Canelo, Angulo, Kirkland or any at the top of the division, his lack of power will be his undoing...

    If you think trout could beat any of those guys, you don't know **** about boxing, Trout isn't going any where, he hasn't beat anyone good...

    Other than maybe me, who's been overrating him? I don't really understand why people are down on this fight. He's never been a big puncher, and you can probably count the number of punches LaPorto landed on one hand. I'm still trying to figure out, what about tonight made people think he's overrated? Was there some flaw I've overlooked because I like him? Speed, incredible stamina, mixed up punches, very slick, southpaw, good size and length...the only real weakness I've seen is lack of power, and he still punches hard enough to keep guys honest.

    So tell me, WHY is he overrated and not underrated (considering most rank him 8-10 in the division)?

    Nobody that great yet, but guys on the same level a number of top 154 pounders have been beating lately (Canelo, K-9 and frankly Cotto), but he's completely dominated all of them. He dominated legit top 10 guy David Lopez, and he dominated top 30-40 guy Rigoberto Alvarez. It's not like he struggled even a little. He went into both of their back yards and despite that won near shutout decisions.

    Is there something about the way he fights to lead you to believe he's not good, especially after a fight where he probably outlanded his (admittedly weak) opponent about 150 to 5?

    overrated now for god's sakes 95% of the people here didn't even know of him before and it's only been like 3 or so hours since the fight ...by your ******ed logic any boxer with a win on T.V. is overrated.

    Well just take a look at the guy in your avy, he had an outstanding record against sub-par fighters and he stepped up just a little and got ktfo, I can't say trout is overated because I have never heard anyone speak that highly about him and I definitely don't see him beating any of the top guys...do you?? And if so who...

    He's an unproven champion, that's all. You will look good against less than ordinary guys.
