"Junior middleweight champion Austin ‘No Doubt’ Trout says he plans on moving down to the 147-pound division to get fights against some of the popular fighters. In the short term, Trout (32-5-1, 18 KOs) is interested in fighting Adrien Broner, Danny Garcia, and Terence Crawford." Thoughts on Trout?
It's rare to see a guy fight a decade at a weight and then move down and be successful Eddie chambers tried it and looked flat Chris Byrd the same thing I'm just worried that he moves down and pbc recycles him vs the 147 names rather than make the fights at 147 the fans want
Trout no chance! He weighed in on fight night at 173 pounds against canelo back in 2013! Now nearly 8 years older he thinks 147 is achievable. He’s gonna be a walking skeleton
Admired his style and skills for a while now and he should have wins against Clenelo and Jermallo, add those to his win over Melon Head Miguel and that's a nice little resume he'd have there if he'd had the rub of the green in those two fights. Way past his best now though.
I like Trout, he gave Jermall and Jermell one of their toughest fights and arguably beat Jermell, he also gave Canelo a tough fight when Canelo was still somewhat of a prospect. But at 147 he will probably be very weak. I hope its just publicity to get his name in the news.
He didn't beat Canelo. He featherdusted all night. It would have been criminal to give him the fight.
And Jermall, arguably wider than he beat Jermell. But yeah, this is a terrible idea. He's gong to be badly drained and brutalized, I can see his first match at 147 going the same way as Pacquiao's dismantling of the badly compromised shell of De La Hoya. But against an opponent far less impressive than Pac.... sadly.
