He was brought in as a sparring partner for Pavlik when Kelly fought Martinez. "No Doubt" held the North American WBC, blah, blah, blah belt at one time. I know he has an extended period of inactivity. I haven't seen any of his fights, but did well sparring Kelly.

He and Ernie were really nice. I'm not sure what's going on with Austin's management team and why is unable to get fights. I told him to relocate to Ohio, we'll get him fights.

He was supposed to have a title fight with Nobuhiro Ishida, went into training camp and everything for the fight, then the corrupt WBA skipped over him and gave the fight to Rigoberto Alvarez instead. He's now Alvarez's mandatory.

I hope he gets a shot. He was/ is a great, down to earth guy.

I would love to see him 'perch'ed at the top of his respective division. I think he would do well with Freddie 'Roach', as long as he doesnt become of a bit of a 'chub' he can continue to 'gudgeon' (bludgeon) his opponents.

There is certainly a 'plaice' for him in todays LM division.

I dont want to 'skate' around the subject, but to my eyes he has picked up a few bad 'halibuts' (habits), if he continues to feast on the 'minnows' of the LM division then he will end up with nothing more than a damp 'squid'. His style for me though really 'carps' back to the old greats.
