I have always thought of Alex LOLeapai as a BUM. He's just a regional level sort of fighter, nowhere near a world class international type of heavyweight boxer.

 

* Daniel Lewis is now 2 - 0 2 ko after 2rd rd tko Fri night. Lewis made his debut at SWW
and weighed 153 3/4 lbs. '' Due to circumstances out of my control , i won't be fighting in
America June 28 as planned. I am packing and ready to go . I can't wait to do my thing.
Thank you everyone for your support . " Lewis has put Aust boxing hottest division on
notice ." I 'm down to fight anyone. Line them up and i'll drop bombs on em !!!!
Lewis is slated to fight at Cronulla July 26 but let's hope local promoters take notice
and put him on the Opetia card July 27 ( on Fox ) or Tszyu PPV Aug 14 or Hornet
PPV Aug 31
Three Aust Boxing shows in a month on Fox. Aust boxing is finally looking up and
getting finally the attention it truly justifying deserves !!!!
* Another prospect to watch out for is CW Floyd Masson. Last fight he stopped
veteran Roger Izonrite first rd and his next fight is against tough is as nails
Cameron HW who last fight was the first fighter to go with Aust best HW prospect
Joe Goodall.

* April Adams from all reports outclassed but a courageous performance in defeat
in Norway to WBO Champ Dina Thorslund.
* The Removalist is back after major surgery and is looking to get back
into world boxing and have some major fights in 2019.

and is fighting again ABA Stadium Aug 31.

Hopefully Light can attract someone decent for his next fight. Realisticly though maybe Ben Kelleher or someone like that.

 

* One a fighter to watch out for if he turns pro is the hard hitting LW Am
English born Billy Polkinghorn . The Redcliff boxer was Am rival of Liam
Wilson and in the finals at the recent Aust Am Champ he lost a 4 - 1 dec to
CMW Gold medalist Harry Garside but he managed to put him on the canvas.
* Justis Huni getting some rds in with Joe Goodall.

* Will Tomlinson next Wild Fighter Show is Oct 12 in his hometown Bairnsdale. Jason
Whateley has been calling out National Champ Ben Kelleher. This would made sense
for the Main Event.

 

It's no fluke that so many well performed fighters come out of that Brisbane gym.

The sparring they get is second to none.

Justis Huni v Joe Goodall, Ty Telford v Cameron Hammond, Joel Camilleri v Dennis Hogan.

You'd be struggling to get a line-up that good on most local promotions.

* The National Title no longer has the prestige it once did and most Aust
boxers are comfortable to take the regional route to a world ranking.
The lastest ANBF ratings has the * against Aust boxers who hold regional
belts meaning they are ineligible to hold it.

A textbook example. Aaron Russell if he defeats Vikas Singh for IBF Australasian
Title it could bump him into the top 15 CW IBF.

* SMW Zac Dunn and Willie Meehan no 1 rated contender for Aus HW Title fight on
same card Aug 30.
* Liam Paro is now rated WBO no 2 at 140 lbs.
* 5 x National Am Champ Nambucca Mitchel Stapleton is turning pro. He is lanky
19 yr old 6 ' 1 147 lb and will be managed by Tony Tolj who managed Chris
Johns and the Maloney twins. He reminds me of two lanky successful AM boxers
Stefan Scriggins and CMW Gold medalist Paul Miller.

There's a few Australian title fights I'd be interested in seeing, even allowing for the rule that says regional alphabet champs are ineligible.

Demsey McKean v Willis Meehan for the Australian h/w title would be a terrific match-up. Joe Goodall to challenge the winner.

Based on the list, Jason Whateley is ineligible to fight for an Australian title. I wouldn't mind seeing him in with Mark Flanagan though.

Reagan Dessaix defending against Conor Wallace at LH would be a match-up between two top prospects.

At Middleweight, I'd like to see Daniel Lewis challenge Tej Singh for the Australian title. If Lewis can win a national title against a defending champion in fewer fights than it took Junior Tszyu to achieve the same feat, it would make a statement.

And can we have Jack Brubaker against Cameron Hammond please? Good fight, long overdue. Don't even need an Australian title on the line for that one. Let's just see the fight.

Ty Telford was so strong at 147 lbs and could be anything at 140 lbs .
Interesting fact Telford recently spent sparring at Stetton Boxing Gym and
Whitehead trains there.

* I guess i will have to record one card.
This Sun Fox 505 11 am to 2 pm The DAZN triple header boxing on and
Fox ESPN 11 am to 2 pm UFC Dos Santos vs Ngannou.

 

It's good to see Foxtel showcasing some of these young up & coming fighters. I've been critical of them in the past but there seems to have been a change of heart there in recent times. Maybe some of their recent shows (& Main Event PPVs) have done some decent numbers. I'd like to think if they put on decent quality fights, people who know what that is will tune in. Along with an expanding base of others.

Wade Ryan as Daniel Lewis' third professional opponent is a terrific fight. I think Ryan has slipped a bit since he gave Junior Tszyu all he could handle but it's still great to see young Lewis stepping in with such a respectable name this early on in his career. A subsequent Australian title challenge against Tej Singh for the national title before the year is out would really set the cat among the pigeons.
