Getting a bit sick of Australians winning a vacant Commonwealth strap then heading over to Britain to drop it to the highest bidder. Completely devalues the belt & doesn't serve any purpose in developing our fighters. Kris George is a better fighter than most who follow that route so best of luck to him regardless.
The bigger question is why are so many Commonwealth straps becoming vacant*? If they were valued like they used to be fighters would be clamoring for a chance to fight for them. Not any more it seems. *yes I realize you have to vacate them for higher honours

Horn has zero chance vs. Crawford and Uncle Bob knows it, that's why the fight is happening! Uncle Bob allowed Pac to get cheated out of a fight he dominated, Pac made Uncle Marsa Bob millions, yet ol' Bob knifed him in the back! Australian boxing is disgraced by a joke like Horn!
Alright, statute of limitations on "Pac lost and that causes me to feel sad feels" tantrums has probably run up now, Farmy. Had they never fought you would probably have no opinion whatsoever regarding Horn, so maybe put statements like "he disgraces Aussie boxing" into perspective.
Is he sad Pac lost? I didn't realize MP was anywhere near as emotionally invested with Pacquiao's fight outcomes as Farmy.
I had never heard of Horn. Had you? You have to admit Horn is not a good fighter. What chance do you give Horn to beat Crawford? I give him zero, well, perhaps a cut from a headbutt could stop it, but you know what I mean..................Horn is no Kostya Tszyu for sure. Kind of feel sorry for him, but he should get a huge payday. Would like to see Crawford fight Spence.....................Judges in Vegas won't give him a round...............Wish they would go back to the old days when a fighter had to actually earn his ranking......................Did you see the movie, "Requiem of a Heavyweight?" Mountain Rivera kept saying that he used to be #5, yes, that was huge back then to be #5 ranked.............. back then boxers had losses on their records and it didn't matter.....................there were some fixed fights back then also, but..................do you understand? The old Friday Night Fights at MSG? Good fights.....................We need a Federal Boxing commission and really an International Boxing Commission with oversight....................Robert Conrad and Sen. McCain tried to get a Federal Commission, but too much blow back...................just want a level playing field for "all" fighters no matter who their promoter is................I am still angry about El Pollo and his PEDS, not to mention Byrd....................
I had seen Horn several times, yes. Him beating Pac was a surprise but honestly not that big of a surprise, considering how bad Pac had looked in the Vargas and Bradley III fights (mind you, that version was still, if only barely, world class, as even a shot Pac-Man is still pretty formidable...but compared with his prime self he looked quite bad) and that Horn already had proven himself at least fringe world class in some of his previous victories. He's a solid all-around guy, strong, tough, awkward, nothing flashy and doesn't excel in any one area but can get the job done against pretty much everyone but the elites. That means, no, I don't give him a good chance against Crawford - but then, Bud is quite special, and some would say even the best pound for pound boxer on the planet at the moment, so that'd hardly be a knock on Horn, would it? By world class standards he's a good, honest B+ fighter. Nothing wrong about that. 100% of your negativity toward him is just being salty that Pac lost. Are you still mad at Tim Bradley personally for what the judges did in his first bout with Pacquiao? Has enough time passed (and has Tim personally crucified himself enough, ie as sacrificial lamb with his eschewing of defense against Provodnikov) to earn back your begrudging respect? What does Horn need to do to follow suit, exactly? Must he risk brain damage like Timmy? What can he do to absolve himself of the sin of getting the nod (by reasonably close scorecards) in a legitimately competitive and difficult to score fight? If not that, of what egregious sin then is he so guilty? The way you talk about him, you'd think he was a half-size John Ruiz (or Luis Alberto Lazarte +30lbs). He isn't. He really isn't that dirty. I can think of a couple dozen active guys in the game right now that are far dirtier. All your complaints are just sour grapes because a decision went against Pac late in his career. Guess what? It happens. Pac isn't special. He might be on a pedestal in your mind but in this dog eat dog business there's nothing sacred and he's just another big name to be cannibalized while he's on the decline. That's how the biz works. Always has been, always will be. No reason to blame Horn or unrealistically act like he's the most undeserving belt holder of all time (or hell, even of the millennium...paging Carlos Baldomir and Brian Magee, you each have a call @ the courtesy phone desk...) or some unforgivably filthy rule-flaunting pugilist.
Luke Jackson disposed of late replacement Surachet Thongmala in 2 rds. Like SMW Rohan Murdock Luke seems disinterested in cleaning up the domestic division while pursing a world title. This content is protected
That footage was disgraceful. Do people have to be lying comatose on the canvas before the ref waves it off? As soon as it becomes one-way traffic, step in & stop it. That isn't sport.
Agreed . Surachet record is now 7 - 8 losses ( 6 by ko ). What about fighting Joe Brunker or Nathaniel May ?
Jeff Horn fight against Crawford will be televised live on PPV in Aust after all. Both Horn and Whittaker UFC fight will be shown live on the afternoon of Sun Jun 10 Aust.
