You are talking about the Aussie fighter Jeff Harding right ? The guy that fought Dennis Andries ?

If so then YES he gets embarrassed by both Andre Ward or Joe Calzaghe at 175. I'm shocked you think Harding would have anything for them. Yes Harding was a tough guy but both Calzaghe and Ward are also tough as nails and all time great elite whereas Jeff Harding had nowhere near their skills. It's like comparing Sugar Ray Leonard to Danni Geales.

Francis I don't disagree with you often mate but this I guess this is one of those times , Harding for me is hands down the toughest mo fo to come from down under in literally the decades I've been following the sport , over 15 rounds we have so many permentations s peed , agility chin etc imo Harding had it all @ 175lbs I ain't say either Andre or Joseph would have lost but Jeffrey ain't getting parked up by either of them .great time warp fight .

Fair enough mate I always respect your opinion on sports and enjoy the discussions.

Will be interesting to see what other posters think about Harding's chances.

Thank you Francis likewise mate you certainly know your boxing and your opinion is always appreciated by this poster man however this is an Aussie thread so expect to get your arse kicked here mate , Both Andre & Joe are highly respected 168lb guys whilst Jeff was a predominantly almost exclusively a 175lbs fella who hung with the worlds best @ L/Heavy and imo there lies the difference , whilst both Andre & Joe went up in a weak era @ 175lbs Young Jeffery hung there with some horrible ****ers @ 175lbs and imo mate that sways me to think if he can hang with the likes of the body snatched he could probably give both a fair row over 15 rounds @ his ' normal weight ' ,, pleasure as always Francis .

    * Tim Tszyu next fight is slated for Dec. With the preferred world rated opposition
unavailable four domestic fighters have been shortlisted.
    Jack Brubaker
    Tommy Browne
    Ben Mahoney
    Bowyn Morgan ( Kiwi )
    * Jeff Fenech tells how Zerafa confidence has gone up to a whole new level.
'' I watched him spar Daniel Lewis and he totally dominated him. It was amazing.
I said that if he could take this form into the ring against Horn , he was a chance of
beating him . I never thought he could do that in the first few rds that wasn't the guy
i seen spar Daniel Lewis. But when he got the confidence that was the guy. I think he
thinks now that he's got Jeff number. "
    * Liam Wilson next fight Oct 26.
    * Keep an eye on Sunshine Coast Dana Coolwell 2 - 0 2 ko as he fights for the QLD
LW Title Oct 5. He represented Aust in Jnr World Champ. White Trunks.

One of the those international opponents out of the IBF's top 15 is the right next step for Junior Tszyu. One of those soft European guys with padded records would have been ideal: #5 Orlando Fiordigiglio 31-2 (13) from Italy, #9 Jorge Fortea 20-1-1 (6) from Spain or #11 Jama Saidi 16-0 (7) from Germany. They'll all want very good money to come out here & get their cherry's popped by Junior Tszyu though.

Looking at the local opposition, I think the Kiwi Bowyn Morgan would be the toughest. He has a fight scheduled for 19 October that may rule him out. Ben Mahoney is too inexperienced which leaves Tommy Browne & Jack Brubaker. I think Jack has begun training with Jeff Fenech.

Michael Zerafa's next move is the big news in Australian boxing. Of course it may depend on what Horndog's next move is. It may be a rematch with Horndog in Qld or a world title shot in Japan. Failing either of those two options, I'd like to see it being a world title shot out here against one of the Junior Middle champs. That's probably the least likely option but I can hope.

Zerafa starts favourite against Horndog in the rematch, is a big underdog against Ryota Murata in Japan & pulls the upset against Erislandy Lara in Melbourne or Bendigo (imo).

Just watched David Light's last fight and I must say, his defence is a big worry. If this Garcia fella was a bigger puncher he could have had him out of there in the 1st roundand continued to take unnecessary shots throughout the first few rounds of the fight as he tried to stand and trade. He had a far more comfortable time of things in the 2nd half of the fight as he went back to boxing but if I were Opetaia's team, I'd be trying to make the fight asap after seeing that display.

Opetaia's form from his last couple isn't good enough to go straight into a David Light fight.

He needs a couple of decent hit-outs against the likes of Kane Watts & Mark Flanagan.

Then he will turn out David's light.

Tbh, I reckon he would right now unless Light learns a bit of defence. Love the pun though ;)

I just hope we don't see Jai Opetaia in with Trent Broadhust next. Nothing against Trent, he's currently the #1 ranked Australian Cruiser, but that's not the right fight for Jai right now.

Jai Opetaia v Trent Broadhurst & Tim Tszyu v Tommy Browne would be an underwhelming finish to what's been an excellent year for Australian boxing. Particularly in terms of development fights for young talent.

I won't be surprised if they both elect to play it safe though.

We should see some announcements in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah as you said earlier, Flanagan and Watts are better opponents for Opetaia. Who knows, maybe he faces both of them in his next 2 fights?

I wouldn't complain too much if Tommy Browne is Tszyu's next opponent. He's coming along nicely and at least Browne is a name of sorts, even if his best years are behind him even though I do see your point in it being a bit underwhelming of an opponent.
