I think Mark Flanagan is a really good opponent for Jai Opetaia.

If successful, they should try to get Kane Watts as his next opponent. Kane Watts fights for the "Super" version of the WBA Cruiserweight title on 15 Nov in France. That's why Kane Watts wasn't available as an opponent for this fight. After his world title shot, a fight with Jai Opetaia should be able to be made & it will then be possible to compare where Jai is at with the WBA "Super" champ.

A fight with David Light also makes a lot of sense.

So maybe three more fights for Jai Opetaia against Mark Flanagan, Kane Watts & David Light & then a world title shot.

What I'm looking forward to most about the Paul Gallen v Big Bad Barry promotion is seeing Andrew Moloney fight for the Interim WBA Super Flyweight title.

If he wins, he will likely be upgraded to WBA regular champ status a month later as a consequence of the unification fight that's happening between the current WBA regular champ & the WBC champ.

Then hopefully we'll get to see the best professional boxer in the country successfully defending the WBA strap three times next year & making some money from the sport. He did sign a contract with Top Rank so maybe a couple of fights out here & another one in America next year. With what appears to be a surge in interest in the sport in this country in recent times (or perhaps just a rekindling of the interest that's always been there), there should be some really good opportunities for Andrew Moloney if he becomes our only reigning world professional boxing champion. It will also mean he gets to fight ranked opponents every fight which will help in terms of bridging the gap in professional experience between himself and the other Super Flyweight champs. Maybe go after one of them after he's made a few title defences of his own belt next year.

I'd like to see Andrew Moloney defending the title here & building his profile. Appearing on the same promotion as Paul Gallen v Triple B will hopefully be helpful in doing that. The footballers will pull in a lot of casuals who will also get to witness Andrew Moloney becoming WBA champ. Jason Moloney is also competitively matched on the show so as a boxing promotion, it will actually be worth seeing.

Both Moloney's are probably our best professional fighters right now. I think those two plus Justis Huni are probably our top three fighters overall. Then the experienced Junior Middles fighting at Middleweight (Michael Zerafa, Dennis Hogan & Horndog), then the young blokes Junior Tszyu & Jai Opetaia & then the really talented novice pros like Daniel Lewis & Liam Wilson. That's my updated top 10, not counting TJ Doheny who fights on the weekend.

Hogan is in a tough fight, charlo is naturally a bigger guy. Goodluck to him hopefully he can pull it of.
Anyone watch the wildfighter stream? I missed it going to try watch it back, interested to see how blake wells went.

    * Hogan fight live on Showtime in the States and DDP working on getting Charlo fight live
in Aust. Hogan got 600 k for Munguia fight so expect similar pay day for Charlo fight.
Charlo is PBC fighter and being live on Fox last Dec so i expect it to be worked out.
    * Paul Gallen being sparring in Northern England with Hughie Fury.

    * Ty Telford win pts Mick Whitehead.
    * Cheeky May to fight against Bruno Tarimo who is IBF International 130 lb Champ
on Tszyu Dec 6 PPV undercard. Tarimo is Tanzanian based in Aust and who holds
victory over Joel Brunker in March this yr.
    * Jayde Mitchell said on Wildcard Fight Night his next opponent for Fox Nov 23 card
will be a former WBA Champ. Looking back this most likely is Giovanni De Carolis
who lost on pts to Akkawy in Feb 2018 but has won twice since.
    * Kostya Tszyu talks about his Tim's career and his life in Moscow and past glory's.

The only reason I can think of for Paul Gallen going to the north of England is to line up a rugby league contract. Sparring with an experienced professional like Big Cat seems like a bridge too far. Mind you, Big Bad Barry is probably sparring with Danny Green.

The Big Charlo is going to be a very tough fight for Dennis Hogan. Glad to hear he's getting well paid for it. Presumably that's why they took it. Because it's the best money fight out there for him. If he doesn't win, presumably it will make him available for a big fight here next year. Good skills, durability & not much power make Dennis Hogan a very attractive opponent for just about anyone.

Giovanni De Carolis gave a good account of himself out here last time he fought. He's the kind of import that I'm glad to see back in Australia. He's a credible opponent & a good choice for a television fight. I've seen a few of our good Super Middles in action so I'm interested to see how Jayde Mitchell shapes up. I haven't seen him fight before.

I saw a couple of fights from the Wildfighter stream on Saturday night. Jason Whateley's opponent showed that he was very intelligent by staying down after getting flattened by a right hand in round 2. No point getting back up even if he could. Whateley is a good fighter with good skills. We need to bring him in behind Jai Opetaia so once Opetaia has had a title shot we can push him forward to the front of the queue.

I also saw Victor Nagbe's fight. He looked much improved from the first outing I saw of his earlier this year. He's physically strong & punches okay despite not getting the stoppage. He's been mentioned as an opponent for Daniel Lewis. I think that would be premature for Victor who would probably be better off building on his winning record.

Nathaniel May v Bruno Tarimo looks like another very good undercard fight. For the domestic PPV shows (for all domestic shows really), it's important they have some strong match-ups on those undercard fights. It really adds to the night's entertainment. If Junior Tszyu drops a hammer on someone's head early, it's those undercard fights that will determine whether paying customers walk away feeling like they got value for money. The same goes for television viewers who buy the PPV.

That's a ballsy comeback fight. The Butcher doesn't fark around.
Bordering on silly from a management perspective.

However where there is risk there is reward. Hoops got a lot of talent and natural gifts, those Audley Harrison proportioned arms were just meant for boxing.
But a lot of lost time to be made up.

If that's on the Tszyu card, it's shaping up very nicely indeed.
