* Marrickville Mauler has declared his fighter's will not contest WBA Title's after his disgust at Oceanic Rep Franciso Martinez who scored Hornet vs Tszyu a draw. * Tszyu is now IBF no 6 Feb rankings. * Zerafa is expected to fight in March and says he has received big offers. Doubt its NBS and more likely one of the Melb Pavilion shows. For credibilty sake please stop chasing another Mundine retirement fight. * Allbion Park Sam Goodman home coming fight for this NBS series fighter. https://www.illawarramercury.com.au...IwAR1p1yZqu4cfjdOQAUjpq303PuGBAVYi1LgBc1uFe9-
They should put Michael Zerafa on the Horndog v Junior Tszyu undercard as the main support & then give him a shot at the winner. Horn v Zerafa is one-all while Tszyu needs more experience against better fighters before taking a world title shot. Both guys would benefit from fighting him which is why it should happen. I don't understand why Horndog would balk at a rubber match with Zerafa if he were to beat Junior Tszyu? He'd be going into it fight-sharpened (unlike his first fight with Zerafa) & coming in off a couple of wins (unlike their second). Three wins in a row against decent opposition would be an ideal lead-in to a world title shot. Fair dinkum. Getting our blokes to do the right thing by themselves & the sport in this country is like herding cats.
Having Zerafa in the chief support is a good idea even if it is against someone like Ren Quinlan who is moving back down to middleweight.
* Zac Dunn moving up to face WBA LHW Champ Dominic Boesel in Germany March 29. * Jason Maloney vs Joshua Greer April 25 co feature Inoue vs Casimero. * Ex NRL player Anthony Watts last seen fighting Paul Gallen in Dec 2014 making a comeback 27 March.
Yeah really tough fights for both Dunn and Maloney but I think Maloney can get the win if he fights at his best, which should get him back in line for a world title end of year. Had high hopes for Dunn when he was coming up and hope he can pull of the upset here, which will be tough especially in Germany in a division he has never fought in,the WBA is such a joke with all there belts and I have no idea how Dunn got this title shot.
Why will it be tough in Germany? Are you suggesting that the hometown fighter will have an unfair advantage?
Greer Jr ain't that good..I think Jase can win that comfortably. Much bigger gap in class for Dunn though.
* Lucas Browne vs Otto Wallin Vegas 28/3. * George Kambosos Jr vs Lee Selby Cadiff 9/5. * SA Terry Nickolas now training with Akkawy Boxing Gym. * Deedee Hobbs courageous in defeat by Mary McGee 9th stoppage. * April Adams who last fight was world title fight a successful return to ring and new WBA Oceanic Champ after win in Mexico.
Doubt it happens but I laughed when somebody tried telling me about a Gallen v Hunt fight. There's few things I would enjoy more then then seeing Hunt take Gallens head off
Obv a boxer will nearly always beat an MMA fighter but Gallens more a part timer with a weak 9-0-1 record against 1 of the biggest hitters in the game, even if he is 45 year old well past it former Kickboxing/MMA fighter with an 0-1-1 record but Hunt level of opposition including in his 2 boxing fights from from 20 years ago which were as good as anything Gallen has gone up against. I like Hunts chances a lot of landing on Gallen over at least 6x3 rounds,Gallen offers nothing to keep him off compared to what Hunt has faced dozens of times against legends of combat sport
Gallen would start favourite with all bookies IMO and I only think Hunt would be competitive for two rounds he would gas before Gallen and get stopped.
No doubt he will start favourite,Hunt may not have the greatest gas tank but he is easily capable of going 6x3 with the likes of Gallen and be capable of knocking him out at any point right up to the final bell
