It was in no way a slur on you or your posts. If it appeared that way then i sincerely apologise. Regarding vs Maloney, fantasy world it’d be great if held in Aust....
I suspect money is elsewhere for Gonzales at this stage, unification or not I can see a “super” belt in play and Moloney elevated or to fight for “reguler” belt??

Regarding amateur updates, I did look n could only find 2 names from nth of perth in a local news article who were on Aust squad.
I dont even know if nations are allowed more than 1 representitive per weight class?
Only other Aust name I know of is Huni from here (Is it the 2 Uzbekastan guys in same weight class?? They prob only 3 amateur names I know at moment)
I did however discover that olympic channel last week so hopefully be able to see something there??

Very good card that turned out , Great effort by 29 year old Part time boxer from Wales Jay Harris ., great skill and determination shown on St Davids Day .let's hope he can win a genuine world title in the near future .

 

I got home from a function just in time to catch the main event on Saturday night. I thought Jayde Mitchell was very unlucky not to get the decision. The other guy was stronger & punched harder but Mitchell did enough, imo.

I didn't get to see Liam Wilson's fight but the highlights suggested he performed spectacularly well. He's worth tuning in for every time he fights from now on. There could be a world title at the end of his rainbow for those who want to follow him through.

Justis Huni fights at the Asian & Oceania Olympic qualifying tournament this week (I think). He should qualify no problem but can he knock off one of the finalists from the World Amateur Championships last year to improve his seeding for the Olympic tournament? I think so.

It will be the biggest win by an Australian in a boxing ring so far this year if he does.
