Yeah someone told me that the liberal party there is the equivalent of the conservative party - but I take it they are more Center left like a lot of so-called right wing European conservative parties. Big cities always tend to be loonie Leftie cesspits so I'm not surprised to heard that about Melbourne and Sydney.
I didn't realise that Seth Efrican Cruiser & Jai Opetaia are the top 2 IBF ranked Cruisers. So the winner of a fight between them would become the IBF mandatory. Rather than go fight him in South Africa, they should consider putting that fight on here with Justis Huni matched tough as the main support. Possibly against the New Zealand H/W Champ. Foxtel should assess how many tune in to their 22 October show & consider bankrolling an event here next up. That way Opetaia won't get shafted in South Africa.
* Options for Tim Tszyu are dwindling for a Dec bout. With news Dennis Hogan will be fighting in the States next against a former world champion under the PBC banner. If successful Hogan will fight a PBC fighter for a world title shot at 154 lbs. Annoucement next week i assume either Hurd or Harrison or J Rock ? Sam Labruna still chasing a Zerafa bout with Mundine Bendigo Nov and Daniel Lewis annoucement of his next fight soon. * Sept 19 Warwick Warn passed away. He was a long serving committee member of the NSW ABA and held the Registar / Matchmaker position for 9 yrs in 8O 's and 90's and also President of the Committee as well as being an active Referee/ Judge from the early 80 's ( prior to boxing NSW ) and international referee. Warwick was tireless worker for boxing in NSW and would travel far and wide to support the support he loved. RIP Warwick Warn.
* Andrew Maloney immediate rematch with WBA Champ Joshua Franco is most likely to be co feature on Crawford vs Brooks Nov 15 in Las Vegas or Omaha which will then be shown on Fox. * Kambosos Jr has left Mon for training camp in Miami to prepare for Selby. * Zerafa camp has rejected a Tszyu offer of 50 to 100 k. They want stadium money 200 to 600 k purse. Expect both parties to go back to drawing board. * Nov 28 Justin Frost vs Waylon Law rematch for Aust 140 lb Title. * Hitman Harding has a written but yet to be published biography. * Next fight live will most likely be Mateo Tapia fight which will be streamed live early Oct 10 Sat morning .
With Dennis Hogan electing to fight overseas & Daniel Lewis probably not preferred, Michael Zerafa is holding a strong hand. He's the right opponent for Junior although the fight probably won't generate the same money as what the Horndog fight did. Then again, what else are those Victorians going to do down there between now & Christmas? Watch the AFL Grand Final? In Brisbane??
Anyone know if UFC fighter "Celtic Kid" Jake Matthew's has gotten any good sparring at the boxing gyms over there?
Good news I have read that Kambosos v Selby is back on October 31st and will be on the under card of Usyk v Chisora. That's a good Sunday morning card for us Aussie fans.
It must be great getting up on a Sunday morning and just going for a Breakie , pint & a live stacked card . You blokes got it right down under here i get to wake up on a sat morning and try to stay awake & sober 21 ****ing hours missing your Sunday morning swig and waking up about 5pm on Sunday after ****ing noon.
My man Usyk is always rocking a slick haircut. Last I saw he has the high fade undercut with the man bun.
* Int opponents now being considered for Tszyu with Daniel Lewis saying its not the right time for a fight with Tszyu and Zerafa still chasing a more lucrative 150 k fight with Mundine. Late Nov / Dec now a possible date. * COVID 18 once again encouraging crossover with Brandon Spain Muay Thai fighter who has competed in K1 World Cup in Japan and IPMA World Titles in Bangkok making pro debut on Nov 14 Spark vs Collins ( world rated Muay Thai ) undercard. * Nov 28 card with Frost vs Law headling will once again be day / night promotion. * After seeing this (2016 ) i see why now Huni took Opelu fight for his pro debut. Justis Huni is a tremendous talent. He's the best H/W prospect we've ever had. Great chance for a medal at the Olympics & possibly a gold if they can get him a few decent fights between now & then. The fact that he's got the ability to get in fights between now & then gives him a comparative advantage. Really looking forward to his pro debut & what comes thereafter. A bit disappointing Junior can't get matched up with one of our locals but I guess after the Horndog demolition job the other guys know that they need to come in well prepared & want top dollar. I was thinking that guy who fought big Charlo on the weekend would be a really good opponent for Junior. Very tough, willing & skilful. If Junior were to get past an opponent like him, he'd be just about bullet-proof.
* Loma vs Lopez is on Fox Sun 18 Oct 507. * NSW Combat Sports is seems now its Oct are still not allowing Boxing and MMA to resume. Pitiful Vict even with its COVID 19 lockdowns are allowing boxing cards to resume in Melb Nov 14. * Brock Jarvis is now FW. How about now the real all Aust Superbout they were once touting Jarvis vs Liam Wilson ? This content is protected This content is protected Justis Huni vs Samoa LHW CMW Gold Medalist. Apparently Junior Tszyu's offers to both Michael Zerafa & Daniel Lewis are still on the table. Perhaps one of them may have a change of heart & decide to fight on the big (local) stage at the end of next month. I think Michael Zerafa is most likely. They are right to negotiate hard & hold out for top dollar but I can't imagine the Anthony Mundine fight is particularly attractive to him. It will also likely still be there irrespective of the outcome against Junior. And if Horndog resumes, there's another good fight for him next year. So he certainly does have options but I reckon a decent money fight with Junior next month would be the best of them. Daniel Lewis electing not to take the fight makes more sense although it is surprising given the public comments he & his team have been making. Coming in off a loss to Fundora probably isn't what he needs although I'm sure he would give a good account of himself if he took it. He needs half a dozen wins over the next 18 months to build himself up a bit. It probably doesn't matter too much if those wins come before or after a fight with Junior so perhaps he may still take it.
