Bloke Opetaia was supposed to fight, the Belgian, lost on the weekend. Showed some ok moves but very lethargic and doesn't look like a legit cruiser. I think Jai with both hands in shape wouldn't drop a round to this guy.
You are in the wrong neck of the woods nancy boy so I suggest you STFU and crawl back to your Mayweather hating and Pac worship threads little man.
It was great to see the sporting nature shown by George what with him going into Selbys dressing room post fight and having the decency to tell Lee how much he respected him, its just a shame some don't show a former world champion the kudos he deserves like yourself Sandy .thanks for the updates Jupp I bet Jai can't ****ing believe his luck and asking the boxing gods just two words ....WHY ME ?
First time I've seen Lee Selby fight, Outlaw. For a 33-year old former featherweight champ, he did fine. Can't say I've seen too many featherweight champions distinguish themselves at lightweight so I'm certainly not casting any aspersions about the fighter that he's been. Taking a look at his record, he managed a featherweight world championship, four successful defences of it & has to this day never been stopped inside the distance. That's certainly a commendable effort by any measure & is significantly better than anything our country has achieved over the same period. While I gave most of the rounds on Sunday (our time) to George, Selby was competitive all the way, particularly in the first half of the fight. I thought the English referee could have been firmer with his warnings for blows behind the head. I also thought the English judge's scorecard was absurd. Maybe I should just be happy that the ref's performance was otherwise fine & that the two other judges had George well in front. If George is to ever go on & win a world championship of his own, it's fights like the one against Lee Selby that will have laid a platform for it. It's going to be tough to win a world title at lightweight given the quality of the champs but I look forward to George getting his chance.
I've been saying for years you're fighter down under lack competition such as this fight provided young George with , sharing a ring with a seasoned pro like Lee will only improve his understanding of the level he has to fight at on a regular basis, it's going to be a hard road for him to win a title but the road he is walking is going to be easier if it's paved with experiences like this last weekend
