Yeah Tszyu calls the shots as far as something like that is concerned. He's the big dog, the favorite etc.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jermell Charlo (Small Charlo) moves up to Middleweight if he is able to unify all the Junior Middle belts against Brian Castano later in the year. Big Charlo will go to Super Middle.

That would mean all the belts are up for grabs when Small Charlo departs the division. If Junior stays active & holds onto that WBO #1 contender spot, he will get a crack at a vacant title. All the newspaper talk of $10m offers to bring someone like Small Charlo out here doesn't make much sense to me (which doesn't stop journos from writing it).

The journos have also got it wrong about one more fight in Australia then overseas to conquer America. When Team Tool Train talks about planting him in America they mean getting his fights on TV over there. Taking him over there to fight in the short term is a good way to get him beaten. Particularly if he's matched with someone decent.

Keep the fights coming here & things will fall into place. You need to read the Stifler's Mum thread to know that though. Australian sports journos are too busy fantasizing about $10m offers to lure Small Charlo out here or a misguided quest to travel half-way around the world to fight in a country where our fighters fail miserably.

It's too bad Horndog couldn't read the tea-leaves on that scenario a while back. With a few respectable wins under his belt, he would have been well-placed to get in on some of that action & make a serious run at one of the vacant Junior Middleweight titles. Instead he's up there in Queensland fantasizing to local journos about rematches that will never happen.

I'm loving the coverage boxing is getting in the mainstream sports media at the moment but a little less fantasy & more reality would be nice. If you want reality & the ability to read the tea-leaves correctly, keep it right here - on the Stifler's Mum thread!

Agree with everything in regards to Tszyu and the dumb journos. No point in going to USA and risking a loss the hometown advantage for Tszyu is massive. I reckon Zerafa then Liam Smith next for Tszyu and thats 3 good wins for him in 2021 then in 2022 he can fight for a vacant belt as I am sure Charlo will move up after he fights Castano.

How deluded is Horn this is one of the reasons I never liked him he is talking about rematch's with Tszyu and Pacquaio LOL he went on to say I don't think I will bother rematching Crawford LOL as if that is even an option for him. The only rematch we are interested in is a rematch with Zerafa. Horn will likely be fighting Brubaker next as the co main on a Justis Huni card.

I reckon what we might see is Junior Tszyu v the winner of Liam Smith v Kurbanov later this year or early next for the vacant WBO title.

Liam Smith is already the #2 contender with the WBO @ Junior Middle. If Kurbanov beats him he will take that spot. The winner of that fight also becomes WBO International champ. Should the world title become vacant, the WBO can match their #2 ranked International champ with their #1 ranked Global champ for the vacant world championship. That's a lot of sanctioning fees they will collect along the way & appears to be the way things are heading. If the Russian-based Russian beats Liam Smith, I reckon him versus Junior Tszyu will do good business in Russia in terms of tv revenue. We'll have the actual fight out here though thanks very much.

Next up for Junior will be Michael Zerafa or that American-based Russian who holds a win against him. The latter would presumably be good preparation if Junior were to end up facing Kurbanov for a world title.

I'm looking forward to all five televised fights. Second show in a row that's the case. When was the last time there were five fights on a local show that held some genuine interest? We're getting it twice in ten days with more to follow. Not sure I've ever witnessed a month as good as this for local boxing.

We get to see our Olympic Super Heavyweight contender back in action plus three well-matched Australian title fights @ Light Heavy, Junior Middle & Welterweight plus Sam Goodman who's a really good talent. I'm particularly interested in making sure we're still on track for Olympic gold. Someone needs to put those big boys from Uzbekistan & Kazakhstan in their place. It may as well be us.

A full report will follow right here - on the Stifler's Mum thread! Might even move the computer into the lounge room for some RBR action.

And I believe all the remaining undercard fights are likely to be streamed live through social media.

Whats everyone's picks for tonight's card?

I mean most should go the way they are supposed to but some may not.

I think they'll go the way they're supposed to. I made the mistake of checking out Justis Huni's opponent. He may be big, but unfortunately he can't fight. At all. That's a first round job. Probably a first minute job if Huni is fair dinkum. The referee in that one needs to make sure the other guy doesn't get seriously hurt & should stop it first chance he gets.

The three Australian title fights are well-matched & will be worth seeing. The Junior Middleweight title fight is the most likely of an upset, imo. I've been more impressed with Kris George as a fighter than Ben Mahoney but given George's inactivity & the fact that he's fighting at a higher weight than previously, I've gone with Mahoney in the tipping comp.

The guy I'm really looking forward to seeing tonight is the Irish Light Heavy, Conor Wallace. Given what his countrymen went on to achieve in this country without any significant television support, I think his might be a career worth following. It's my first look at him tonight. I think one of the welterweights is very talented & capable of becoming a world class contender also. Look forward to seeing him as well.

First fight was a beauty. Leti Leti won by majority decision against Conor Wallace. I would have scored it the other way but not a robbery. Leti Leti was very strong, punched hard & was very aggressive. Wallace showed plenty of class & has some terrific skills but two of the judges on the night preferred Leti's sustained aggression. A rematch is in order.

Second fight - Sam Goodman W6 (UD) Daniel Carr. He's an excellent fighter, Sam Goodman. Left Hook City b/c he couldn't miss with it. He was fighting three weight divisions north of Junior Feather but still managed to outwork & outbox his opponent. I hope they can get him fights in his natural weight division b/c he's certainly capable of contending at world level at that weight. I've been impressed with him every time I've seen him. Tonight was no exception. Good performance by him.
