Breaking news on the Stifler's Mum thread!

Timmy "Tool Train" Tszyu will fight Michael Zerafa in Tszyucastle on Wednesday 7 July.

This is a Stifler's Mum thread world exclusive. There will be a televised press conference at 10:00am tomorrow (Thursday) Australian Eastern Standard time to announce the fight.

Agree it's a good fight for Australian boxing. Michael Zerafa makes a great villain & having travelled the world as a professional fighter, fighting in Fortress Tszyucastle won't bother him in the slightest. He's still owed a rubber match from Horndog so it's good to see him headlining on Main Event for the third time & collecting the payday that goes with it.

The guys who have fought up at Middleweight (like Wade Ryan & Dwight Ritchie (RIP)) have tended to do better against Junior than his other opponents so it will be interesting to see how the fight plays out.

The East Coast of Australia needs to be the stronghold of Australian boxing. If there's a weakness in the current landscape it's the lack of Victorian involvement in the sport at the pointy end so Zerafa's participation in this fight addresses that shortcoming to some degree & will help with PPV sales in a very important domestic market.

With Justis Huni fighting on 26 May & 16 June, George Kambosos Jr challenging for the unified Lightweight title on 6 June & Timmy Tool Train v Michael Zerafa on 7 July, Australian boxing is looking good in the lead-up to the Olympics.

 

If he beat Gallen fair enough but his performance was embarrassing I doubt many will be interested in watching Big Daddy TV LOL

 

Good to know I had a feeling this was coming. It will be a good fight and the build up should be fun.

He doesn't seem to realise that losing to Gallen pretty much ended any interest in his career.

 

Agreed he should've treated the Gallen fight like a world title fight and gave it everything. It was his last roll of the dice and a big fight for Australia and he completely blew it.

 

I want to see Justis Huni versus Big Daddy Browne at the end of the year as the Stifler's Mum thread Christmas bonus fight.

So Justis Huni's schedule for the rest of the year would look something like this:

26 May - Christian Tsoye
16 June - Paul Gallen
July-August - Olympic tournament
Sep-Oct - Paul Gallen rematch
November - Alex Leapai
December - Big Daddy Browne

In 2022, take on Demsey McKean, Hemi Ahio, Joe Goodall & Willis Meehan. Four up & comers who are currently undefeated.

Then onto Junior Fa & Joseph Parker. After Australia & New Zealand have been cleaned out, take on the world.

 

You really wanna see him face Browne? I'd rather see him against Purcell, Nasio or even Julius Long which says more about the state of Browne right now.

 

Ambitious and looks great but quite unlikely.

You're one of only a few people who still want to see Huni-Browne. Alas, Gallen got to him first and there is no point in that fight. A Christmas bonus implies cash to be made, like Gallen-Hunt when some of us bet big on Gallen at crazy odds. The over/under for Justis-Big Daddy would probably be 30 seconds of the first round with nothing else of value.
Huni will beat Gallen convincingly so no need for a rematch. I'd imagine he'd want/need a break after the Olympics. Leapai is a decent name, especially since he almost went the distance with Parker. Stopping him earlier would be a good statement.
Next year would be 4-5-6 similar veterans with name value, this time from overseas. Fellow prospects in 2023, Parker and Fa in 2024.

 

* Gallen drives a hard bargain. The Huni fight he will earn 1.5 M and there is a rematch clause.
* Brock Jarvis will be the main co feature on the June 16 th fight.
* National Boxing Coach Kevin Smith " Gallen hasn't got the skill's of World Class AM , he may not be a technically gifted boxer. But he 's got a big heart , a tough man a big engine.
* Stan has now 150 ,000 subscriber 's and not just Rugby Union but French Open and Wimbleon. They made a
play for boxing via Brock Jarvis and potential Sonny Bill William's fights and this increased competition with Fox can only good be for Aust Boxing.

 

Sound logic, Johnny. Can't disagree with most of that.

There's certainly a decent chance we won't see a Gallen rematch or the Lucas Browne fight later in the year. Which would mean there's plenty of time for Justis to have a rest after the Olympics & then return with at least one showcase fight before the end of the year. Let's say it's Alex Leapai.

The Paul Gallen fight will allow Huni to move over to the PPV platform which in turn generates the dollars needed to secure decent opponents. We've seen that with Tim Tszyu. In order to keep Huni on the PPV platform after the Olympics, he will probably need to claim a medal at the Olympics. If he does, I think he will move onto facing fellow prospects like those I mentioned after a showcase fight b/c the money will be there to support those fights.

I think the intent after the Olympics will be to fast track him & if the money is there, the opponents are potentially available in this country (and NZ) to do just that.

 

The Julius Long fight would be worth seeing although Big Daddy has kayoed him twice. Perhaps those two could be matched up underneath a Justis Huni v Alex Leapai fight after the Olympics to determine Justis' final opponent for the year? I think Lucas would swat the other guys you mentioned like flies.

 

I don't mind Long tbh. He gave a prime Lucas Browne a fair bit of trouble the first time they fought, and rocked him heavily and nearly had Browne out of there himself until Browne found a punch from nowhere in the 2nd fight.

I'd like to think that he'd get rid of the other two I mentioned but I'm not so sure now as Browne is beyond shot.

Could be hard for Huni to get the top NZ/Aussie opponents down here to fight him as they're pretty established in their pro careers and won't see any benefit in fighting Huni unless the money is good.

 

Is Browne lowering himself to doing Onlyfans now that his career as a boxer is totally in the shitter?
