He played first grade rugby league & represented New Zealand so I don't think there's much chance of that, Johnny. He's a big guy. The fight poster says "Termination Day" with Huni depicted as half terminator. I lol'd. This content is protected
From what I see of him I'm even bigger, although I've never played rugby. Not that it matters, as it was just a lame joke on my part. I don't know the guy, let alone hate him. I've simply heard a lot of bad opinions about the man and think the poster is indeed awful and disrespectful to Gallen, who quite rightly is pissed off.
Paul "John Connor" Gallen will lead the resistance against the machines. Will it be hasta la vista Huni?
Gallen has similarities to the T1000 but Huni is the superior liquid metal terminator but in the end being superior didn't secure the win so it could be Judgement Day for Huni
I'll give you guys a hot tip. Gallen doesn't care one little bit about the poster. It's publicity and the PPV sales that come with that, that are his main concerns. Justis isn't a smack talker really, so his promoter will do a lot of that.
I'm not putting the cart before the horse in deciding the outcome of this one. The best indication of where Huni is at will be how he performs against Christian Tsoye in a fortnight's time. Tsoye can punch & is quick & nimble like a Cruiser. If Huni is susceptible to being upset by Gal, there will be an indication of it in this fight.
Relax, G-Man. If there's money to be made on this fight you will hear about it here. But first we need to do some recon. We need to assess Huni's form against the bloke he's up against in a fortnight's time. There's a couple of things to consider that are relevant to the Gallen fight - how does Huni perform in Sydney (where the Gallen fight will take place) & how does his chin hold up after getting pole-axed in sparring in January? If Huni looks sharp & purposeful against Tsoye, I'd say he will go through Gal like a chainsaw through a scarecrow.
Exactly. The purpose of a fight poster is to generate publicity for the fight. It seems to be having the desired effect.
Hang on... I know Huni was concussed, but the official news was that it was some freak wrestling accident. You mean he got KO'd in sparring?
It was both. One after the other. The footage was posted this morning in the Huni v Gallen fight thread on the front page. Top of the board last time I looked.
Oh dear, hadn't seen or heard that before. Although "pole-axed" might be a bit harsh as it was only a tap, but that makes it even more worrying.
If he was out like a light after being dropped on his head in the wrestling incident, it's perhaps understandable given the sparring session occurred shortly afterwards. But yes, it's a concern and has expectation-managed me somewhat. I've still got high hopes for him though. From watching him fight in the 2019 World Amateur Championships & at the 2020 Asia & Oceania Olympic qualifying tournament (where he faced Bakhodir Jalolov who is a very hard puncher), I would have assessed his chin as being one of his best assets. He was also hit flush by decent punchers in his first two pro fights without being inconvenienced at all. It's not necessarily the visibly hard ones that do the damage though. I've seen the guy he's fighting next badly hurt Joe Goodall twice in a 6-rounder so we'll see how he goes against him in a fortnight's time.
