Power punching Gold Coast Samoan Leti Leti is making a comeback on the Rohan Murdock Sept 15 undercard. Leti who is 11 - 1 11 ko last fought in the ring 24 /7/ 14. He will be fighting at SMW.
Bilal Akkaway fight 29 July has been cancelled and is already in San Diego as Canelo chief sparring partner for Golovokin rematch.

That's a tough camp to be unlisted for, great honour in being called in as cheif sparring partner.

 

Townsville Mark Bam Bam Flanagan CW will be back in the ring with a big international fight Sept 8. It will not be against Jai Opetia that everyone in Aust wants to see , but both camps are still in negotiations. Let's hope its IBO Champ South African Kevin Lerena as Bam Bam promoter Angelo Di Carlo said in interview on July 1. Though he hinted that fight would be in SA at the end of the yr.
Brock Jarvis improved his record last week to 14 - 0 13 ko with a one rd ko in Suriga Keawkhau in Bangkok last week. Jarvis has been in training camp over there with Billy Dib. The best fight of the Dib undercard will be the clash of two underdefeated SMW fighting for the NSW State Title. Isaac Buckley 5 - 0 1 D 1 ko vs Mateo Tapia 7 - 0 4 ko.

He is certainly living off his old mans name and padding his record. In saying that I have seen most of his fights and he is improving. I was at his fight at the Star Casino in Sydney and I thought he lost, he got dropped by some domestic journeyman. Time will tell but I don't think he is above domestic level. He will probably continue to play the ratings game with regional titles an receive an undeserved world title fight due to his name and backing.

 

The Mikey Garcia vs Robert Easter Jr Unification LW bout is being shown on Fox Sports 501 this Sun from midday. The main undercard fight is Luis Oritz vs Razvan Cojana.

He's one of the best prospects in Australian boxing.

Comparisons with dad are silly. Kostya was a 270 amateur fight veteran who spent many years campaigning in the top tournaments (European championships, World Amateur Championships, Olympic Games) against the best amateurs in the world culminating in winning the world amateur championship at 139lbs in 1991. He was ready to win a professional world championship from the moment he set foot in a professional boxing ring.

Tim the Toolman had 30-odd amateur fights against domestic opposition. He's going to have to do things the old-fashioned way & learn on the job as a pro. Which is why it's important not to rush him.

How far can he go? Don't know, but looking forward to finding out.

The Australian Junior Middleweight title would be a good start.

LMAO, Francis the mighty Cardiff City got promoted to the Premier last season so fingers crossed myself and the grandson will get to watch some quality football this coming season , talking about Mr Holy I was re watching Evander v Smoking Bert Cooper the other day and I'm of the opinion Burt would damage some of the pretenders passing themselves off as heavyweight champions these days mate and shudder to think how much carnage Evander would cause .

 

I am looking forward to Garcia Easter this weekend. I actually think Easter will pose some problems for Garcia. Browne and Leapai may as well fight each other they are both past there best and don't have many other options, the winner will likely get another pay day.

 

The Farmer Dib fight is being picked up by ESPN in the US

 

I wouldn't mind if Berries came out of retirement. I think he needs to fire his team. I would love to see Berries v Danny Santiago who is a big name in the US.

 

I only wish the Berries kid would let the FAB 4 guide his career. With the FAB 4 in his corner and fire in his belly he could outclass the Santiago kid who, as you say, is a big name in the states.

 

If I remember correctly Cooper had prime Holyfield all over the place early in that brawl of a fight.

 

Jeff Horn has started training to face Anthony Mundine at Suncorp Stadium on a Sat night in Nov. The deal for the fight is expected to be finalized within a week as a co promotion between both camps.
