Speak for yourself, they are always a let down for me and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a competitor happy with a draw.
Harry Garside great footwork and variety of punches, but he really needs to improve his power if he can, it really looks like he has nothing on those punches - may be in part because he is still bouncing around a lot in an amateur style. The punches look like little taps. The Sims girl saved face due to a NRL link and the promoters - she definitely lost that fight
I think it’ll take time for Harry to reach his peak. Happens plenty. Tim Tszyu for instance… early doors it didn’t look like he had much power but it’s improved. Huni is in the same boat.
Was an enjoyable night at the fights on Wednesday night. I was really impressed with Aukoso, no nervous energy at all for his pro debut. He looked incredibly calm and was really patient and measured with his shot selection. Lightning fast when he did get them off too. I was interested to see if Harry could keep up that amateur bouncing in and out style for the full 10 rounds, he did get a little more flat footed but I wouldn't say he looked overly gassed. Overall thought it was a great performance for his first 10 rounder. Some of his exits on the angle were a work of art.
Offtopic but I prefer to discuss things with you gents than the morons in the general. What a fight in Japan! Big drama in Saitama! A modern middleweight fight that goes in the time capsule imo. But in the same time it s obvious GGG is past it and has a weak midsection. In the first rounds he looked ready to go to the body! But boy those Japanese guys are inhumane, insane amount of punishment he soaked up Murata.
As expected Skye back on later this month on the Taylor-Serrano card against Texan 3-1 Shanecua Davis. First female Aussie to fight at MSG! Meanwhile she is on short vacation with her equally cute sis in Paris per her instagram.
Yep it was an entertaining fight GGG still has something left he did look slower but that is expected at 40. I don’t want to see him take a beating from Canelo I still think that there are winnable fights for him at middleweight that would pay well against Munguia and Eubank Jnr.
Been a stressful few days with Coolwell's opponent having massive visa issues. Sorted now and he's well on his way over. Absolute nightmare. Hope Deadly gets the job done on Wednesday. You won't meet a nicer kid.
Looking forward to that card. Jammed packed with talent and a potential fight of the year candidate Kite-Horn.
Apart from their toughness not really that impressed to be honest I reckon Tszyu would wreck Fundora. Fundora just overwhelmed Lubin with his size and Lubin wasn’t strong enough to keep him off. I think that Tszyu would out muscle him break him down and stop him.
Didn't get a chance to see them but will try to over Easter. Good results though. Harrison is making noises about being willing to come out here. I think the idea would be to fight him over there on US tv. I guess if the timetable doesn't suit, bringing him out here is an option. Don't like Fundora as an opponent for Tim. Too awkward. He's now WBC mandatory & interim champ so perhaps their paths won't cross short term.
I hope that Tszyu continues to stay active it would be good if he did fight in Australia and the US because I would hate for him to become inactive like a lot of the PBC fighters. I think the belts are going to split up after the Charlo Castano rematch as the winner will have too many mandatories due as Fundora is now the WBC mandatory and Tszyu is the WBO mandatory. As far as Fundora goes I have to disagree mate I think that Tszyu has the perfect style to beat him up and stop him I think Lubin would've been a tougher style for Tszyu.
Another reason I don't like the Beanstalk fight for Tim is b/c he's going to have to plank him to win. Beanstalk comes across as a very friendly, intelligent, likeable guy. He's also Mexican/American which is the biggest demographic for boxing in the US. It's in the best interests of the sport as a whole for him to keep winning. While I think there was plenty of goodwill towards Tim embarking on a US campaign, we can't necessarily expect it be on the same scale as what they have for their own guy. There are good reasons why Beanstalk keeps getting close decisions & they're likely to continue. Agree about Tim staying active & not being sidelined for an extended period. It remains to be seen how things play out with the ratings also given recent results & the fact that Russian fighters are likely to be removed. That could open things up for someone like Tony Harrison. If he suddenly appears high up in the WBO rankings you might want to keep him in reserve as an opponent for a shot at a vacant title should that eventuate. It will be interesting to see how things play out.
