Great to have matchroom in Australia, one thing eddie should get credit for he has payed his fighters very well. Should be exciting for any up & coming prospect one the the world's lead promoters is actively interested in Aus/Nz boxing
Fast Eddie has some decent Australian talent but he doesn't have any drawcards. He said he's not going to sign up a bunch more but I reckon Stevie Spark & Joe Goodall would be good signings. They may be better than what he currently has in those divisions. Only way to know for sure is to match them up.
Yeah he'll have to work better with the local promoters down under than what he has with the big dogs to make big fights down here happen. Exciting times for fighters in this part of the world though, plenty of opportunities now.
Unlikely we'll see that even though fighting Leutele on the undercard of that show was the original plan for him. Last time he backed up with a short turnaround coming off a 10-rounder he broke his hand & was out for 12 months. Harry Garside messed up his hand recently doing the same thing so perhaps short turnarounds after solid 10-round hit-outs isn't the best approach. I reckon two more for Huni this year & then another four next year to clean out the local ranks. If he's doing four fights a year it would also allow him to travel overseas & do some sparring against the top guys when & if opportunity presents. When Huni starts fighting international opponents I'd like to see him take on a couple of trial horse Americans & then maybe a couple of those Kazakh's who medaled at the Olympics but who can't get fights. Ivan Dychko & Kam Kunkabayev wouldn't cost an arm & a leg to get out here & the fights could be marketed using their Olympic credentials and (so far) undefeated professional records. It's not just a matter of maneuvering Huni to a world title shot. He needs to develop the skills he's going to need to be successful when he gets there. That's going to require matching him tough on occasions.
I think Liam Para has been the more convincing of the two & Jarvis will be moving up in weight so I'd go with Paro. Stevie Spark may be better than both.
