I have a feeling this will be a cherry pick go very bad for Horn. Mundine still has speed and snap. Horns technique using his face to block punches is a ready made meal for Mundines reach and style...I also am anti Mundine but i aint blind.

Best shape we've seen Browne in since he turned pro?

Doubt it will have made a difference in the Long II outcome, anyhow - nor do I think a svelte Big Daddy all of a sudden fares any differently against Whyte or the handful of heavyweights superior to Whyte.

With Paul Gallen withdrawing from the Storm clash with a serious shoulder injury
with ligament damage i doubt he will fight this year. However businessman Phil
Murphy is a very wealthy property developer and is a major sponsor of Jeff Horn
and this only can be a major plus for Joe Goodall.
Liam Wilson looking sharp for this weekend fight.

    Australian boxing Top 10 P4P:

    1. TJ Doheny - IBF Junior Feather champ. Okay, so he's an Irishman. Seeing as how he's fought his whole professional career out of Australia, I think it's okay to have him on our P4P list.
    2. Andrew Moloney - Commonwealth Light Bantam champ. Based on one viewing of him (last start), I think he's good enough to win a world title. Let's hope they pick the right champ to challenge.
    3. Jeff Horn - Former WBO Welter champ. The less said about his next fight the better as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully he's still on this list when it's over.
    4. Jason Moloney - Commonwealth Bantam champ. Fights for a world title next start.
    5. Dennis Hogan - WBO #1 ranked Junior Middle. No truth in the rumour the Irish thread is to be closed down b/c all the best Irish fighters are based in Australia.
    6. Damien Hooper - With wins over Umar Salamov in the pros & Marcus Browne in the Olympics, there's no more talented fighter in Australian boxing than this bloke. Now if we can just keep him out of jail.
    7. Jai Opetaia - Why they're taking him to Belgium to fight is beyond me. Let's hope he wins anyway.
    8. Tim Tszyu - Due for a step-up fight. Not sure if it will be in November or next year.
    9. George Kambosos Jr - Has headed overseas to further his career. So far so good.
    10. Bilal Akkawy - Looks likely to do the same. Be good if Canelo's trainer is willing to work with him & Golden Boy can get him some fights.

    Honourable mention:

Rohan Murdoch - Might be the best Super Middle in Australia but I've seen more of Akkawy which makes him easier for me to rate.
Michael Zerafa - Commonwealth Junior Middle champ.
Luke Jackson - Very gritty performance when he stepped up in class.
Nathaniel May - Let's see if he can do what Luke Jackson didn't & pick up a win in Ireland.

Solid list Sandman. What about consideration for Mark Flanagan , Kye Mackenzie , Renold Quinlan , Blake Caparello and for promise the untested Jeff Fenech trained Brock Jarvis.

I've given priority to up & comers.

Those other guys are all solid but most of those I've listed are young blokes on an upwards trajectory.

The top 5 are pretty much ready to fight for world titles now while the next 5 need a few more development fights (in some cases, quite a few more).

Not sure Brock Jarvis is quite on the same level as those I've mentioned. He should be able to test himself with good sparring against the likes of TJ Doheny & the Moloney boys.

One thing the list does show is the strong Irish influence on Australian boxing atm. Two of the top 5 are Irish while presumably the Moloney boys are of Irish heritage. Of course Luke Jackson fought there recently & Nathaniel May is about to.

I think one of the Moloney boys is where our next world title is coming from. There's got to be a weak link down in those lower weight divisions among the current crop of world champions that can be exploited.

There's some talk Tim Tszyu is set to challenge Michael Zerafa for the Commonwealth Light Middleweight title on 1 March next year in Melbourne. Nothing confirmed.

The timing sounds about right to me. It would give Tszyu an opportunity to take another fight (or two) before then & get himself properly prepared.

Would be nice to see Blake Caparello v Super Hooper or Jai Opetaia as the co-feature.

Good fight. Should be a good learning experience for Tszyu win or lose.

At this point I pick Zerafa.

I favour Tszyu on the proviso that he gets a decent hit-out under his belt in November before taking the fight.

He appears physically stronger, hits harder & I think may be a bit tougher (in terms of punch resistance).

In saying that, Zerafa won't be standing in front of him & is a good mover with decent skills & long arms.

I think Tszyu is good enough to get through with the heavy artillery at some point, land on the button & hurt him.

The WBSS SMW final between George Groves and Callum Smith will be live
on Fox Sports 503 this Sat morning 3.00 am. Main bout 6 .00 am.
The undercard includes Chris Eubank Jr vs JJ McDonagh.
Lucas Browne is going into his Broadbeach rematch with Julius Long this
Fri with a new trainer Perth Jay Gray replacing Sydney trainer Rodney
Williams who guided him to the world title. Big Daddy now lives in Perth.
Lucas plans to sever ties with manager Ricky Hatton in Jan and wants to
    do his own thing now.
Lucas says the most he ever made in a fight in Aust was $ 25000 .
With trainer , manager fees and taxes that's less than $10000. A hard
    way to earn a buck.
This is why Tim Tszyu should be cautious in fighting Michael Zefara in Vict.
A neutral venue would be better. Formerly undefeated Darlinghurst Mick
Whitehead 6- 1 4 ko ( now based on Gold Coast and trained by Glen Rushton )
lost a highly controversial dec to Coomera Matt Casboult 7 -1 1 ko.
