An interesting question for Australian boxing pundits is who is the best Light Welter in the country? We've got a fight coming up on DAZN between the undefeated WBO #1 Liam Paro & heavily hyped Jeff Fenech talent Brock Jarvis that will notionally determine it. But what about Stevie Spark? The Spark-plug! I reckon he could be the best Light Welter in the country. Hard puncher, natural athleticism, quick. If he signs with Fast Eddie, we might find out. The ultimate winner of that trilogy would make a worthy opponent for the Undisputed champ, Josh Taylor. Or be a very strong contender to win a vacant world title. Bring that fight out here & I reckon our bloke can win it. First things first though. Let's see how Liam Paro v Brock Jarvis goes. Not sure Jeff would want to put Brock in with the Spark-plug if he were to upset Liam Paro but we'll see what happens. George K Jr should consider using Stevie Spark as a sparring partner for the Devin Haney rematch also. Good fighter.
Regarding Jarvis vs. Parro on DAZN. Do we even know if they will let us watch it?!? They didn't show Chisora vs. Pulev??? I assumed that we'd get that for sure under the basic subscription. I'm going to cancel. There has been too many fights that they don't show in Australia. No point paying $14 per month and then having to go find a stream for fights they don't show us.
Ill keep it because I'm a sucker but it's been a bit disappointing since its gone up in price. How good was it when it was $3 and there was a fight every weekend? I'm not a big fan of women's skateboarding.
It was awesome I won't take that away from them. I imagine they are cost cutting just like everyone else in that space i.e. Netflix. The $2.99 days are gone forever.
This guy cashed out immediately. Didn’t make weight and didn’t care that he lost in his first defense.
It will be on DAZN & should be a decent show so I will keep the subscription running but you raise a good point about its value. I think they switched to that amount in May which means by the time their September show rolls around we will have made 5 payments at that amount. That's more than a Foxtel Main Event PPV which is $60. Even allowing for the fact they may put on four shows a year here you're looking at Foxtel Main Event PPV money for the privilege of watching. They will need to be good fights to maintain the interest of hard core fans. DAZN seem happy to sell a lot of their international shows to Foxtel presumably b/c there's a dollar in it for them over & above what they would get for the show in the form of new subscribers here. Chisora v Pulev was on Foxtel. AJ v Usyk 2 is must see so it will be interesting if they sell that one to Foxtel or elect to keep it on DAZN. They kept their first fight on DAZN last time but I reckon that might have been a turning point in DAZN's approach to the Australian market. Foxtel would pay good money to get the rematch.
Has anyone seen our man, @MidniteProwler? If anyone sees him out wandering, please return him to where he belongs - the Stifler's Mum thread. The thread's top ranked poster is needed in order to maintain our status as the foremost authority on Australian boxing anywhere in the world.
Hey mate I am right here. I had that nasty flu going around Sydney knocked me on my butt for a while. I am really looking forward to seeing our man Nikita destroy Benny Horn. I saw a clip of Nikita rag dolling the MMA bag saying he is gonna throw Benny around. I see that Justin Hodges is back on the undercard fighting some youtube loser on debut that should be a laugh. I agree with what others are saying about DAZN. I have Foxtel and DAZN so I don't miss many fights but it seems that any fight worth a damn on DAZN Foxtel are picking it up. I actually prefer it on Foxtel as there is no lag. Looking forward to seeing some Queensland glass getting shattered tonight in Origin.
That seems like a long way away. The Kazakh must be getting some dollarydoos to be patient because that will probably mean another 8-10 months before he gets his shot.
RIP Stifler’s mum.. just read the first and last page. hope Kambosas rebounds and fights someone other than Haney..
