I was expecting a ringside report but I guess this will have to suffice. I think you might be selling Pampellone a bit short here. He looks like a top prospect to me & a world title fight early in his career might set him up for bigger things later on. Agree LH is his best weight but he's likely to do as well against Jai as he would against Beterbiev or Bivol right now. Personally, I'd like to see Jai do the Pampellone fight first up as a voluntary title defence. Keep Jason Whateley as the mandatory for later on next year. The Kiwi Tszyu, Mikhailovich, getting taken the distance is a bit of a surprise. I guess it wasn't their week for scoring kayos.

 

George will become the first Australian male to win a grand slam singles title at Rod Laver arena.

I reckon he can do it in straight sets if he lands heavy with his first serve. Boom!

 

I rate Pampellone highly don't get me wrong, I just think he's waaaay too small to be operating there against the big boys at CW. I do see your point though that fighting Opetaia will give Pampellone some good experience.

Waitai is a tricky southpaw to be fair and does make guys look bad in there. He'll be used a lot for prospects in this part of the world. One thing I will give to the Peach boxing gym is that they do keep their fighters very active, like they have done with these two. Would like to see David Light out soon too.

yeah the usual complaining from some on here, lol.
they would be wise to keep nikita on fox instead of going down the ppv direction atm. put regular cards with some interesting bouts and gain some followers for a while imo.

 

Some on here can be very harsh on Australian fighters but they also acknowledge good performances by our guys on the international stage when they occur. Even in circumstances when they don't win. The Moloney brothers are examples of that. Judging by the rapidly growing readership of this thread & its widespread recognition as the foremost authority on Australian boxing anywhere in the world, there are plenty of people out there who appreciate the diversity of views on offer. The different perspectives on Wednesday night's fights are a case in point.

I think The Caboose's next fight will be on PPV & it will be a rematch with Bangin' Benny Horn. The calls for it from all over the world (not just in Australia) are too loud to ignore. No rematch clause needs to be activated. The world demands a second fight. I expect the co-feature will be Galvatron against Justin Hodges in a PPV extravaganza.

In a Stifler's Mum thread world exclusive, I can reveal that negotiations for the rematch are already underway with Bangin' Benny & Team Horndog making several diva demands. 1. The rematch has to be in Queensland. 2. The referee & judges have to be Queenslanders. 3. The fight has to be 8 rounds instead of 6. 4. The scorecards for the first three rounds need to be filled out in advance.

The Queensland boxing commission is considering these requests.

horn beat a legitimate living legend who has a resume of wins before and after their bout that is possibly better than any boxer in the world today and they unleashed barrage after barrage on him trying to discredit him and not giving him his dues.

Apparently the IBF has mandated Ebanie vs Shotgun Shannon.

 

Maybe on the Australian Matchroom card Gman?

Would be a good co main for a Gallen fight maybe aswell.

 

Maybe altough Ebanie has mentioned several times its not in her plan to fight on that show.

 

Bridges will beg Hearn to try and get her out of it IMO she doesn't want that smoke with Shotgun.

 

I agree but she doesnt have much choice.
Best she can hope is Matchroom win the putse bid and stack everything in her favour.

Best I can find as a reaction from Ebanie is a interview where she basically says there is no interest in a fight with either Shannon or Neekz from 2 weeks ago.

Not sure who else in the Top15 would be a better fight outside of the Courtney rematch.

All respect to Bridges but she knows she is on borrowed time. Neekz and Shotgun should beat her comfortably.

 

I agree altough Shannon you know had that horrible shoulder surgery.
Awf injury,couldnt even lift her arm for 6 weeks and will need another surgery post career.Who knows how her arm is ?
Still,I like both over Ebanie.
She does have a point that they are a bit clout chasing since she is better known.
No chance Shannon would have bigged a fight with Roman for exame as much.
