Parker no longer has any ambitions, non-existent mentality and only wants easy money...

Embarrassing scenes for rugby league with prop Roy Asotasi getting KTFO in 10 seconds by a small midfield back from Union. Also Hodges lost to a union fella, probably more predictably. At least my boy Sione Faumuina won.

Has anyone got info on Parker? Is he still with Shalom? The Massey fight felt like a contract ender. Is he a free agent going down under? Is he linking up with an Aussie promoter?

Parker is a free agent, his contract with Boxxer ended. I presume Browne will attend the Parker Opeulu fight and then Parker Browne will be made.

Liam Paro Arnold Barbosa Jr purse bids were won by Matchroom. It’ll take place in the US on June 17 or in July. It’s in the US since Paro will receive 60% of the purse rather than 40% if it were to take place in Australia.

If Liam Paro and Steve Spark win their next fights, could a big fight between the two Australians take place in Australia ?

David "Aussie Dave" Nyika has a big future in the Cruiserweight division. I hear he's VERY excited about the new fast-track citizenship options for Kiwis in this country. I think we'll bring him in behind Jai Opetaia. Would like to have seen him matched a bit tougher on the Django Opelu show rather than against someone he's already beaten, but hopefully he keeps getting television appearances & the chance to build a following.
The gaping hole in the Australian boxing landscape at this point is no domestic heavyweight attraction fighting locally. Justis Huni is yet to make an appearance in a boxing ring this year & when he does it won't be here. Presumably No Limit have brought Joseph Parker here to fill that hole. There's some decent fights here for him so perhaps we may see a few before Huni returns & shows the world who's the true King of the South. That's if Fast Eddie doesn't get him beaten overseas prematurely by overmatching him.

Liam Paro v Stevie Spark would be a great domestic fight but it won't happen while both are pursuing international honours. More chance of it happening if they both lose than if they win. The reason a lot of these guys are fighting overseas is b/c they don't have big followings domestically & therefore their ability to generate income is severely limited unless they are fighting on an overseas show with a major promoter. Australian boxing domestically is essentially propped up by the money Tim Tszyu is generating.

A lot of people will be crossing their fingers that Joseph Parker can generate decent PPV sales & in so doing, build interest in TOT (the other Tszyu).

I know he has announced his retirement but I would like to see No Limit make an offer to bring Gabe Rosado out here for a fight with Hardman.

    Barboza has ran scared already.

Looking down the WBO rankings..Jose Ramirez just fought a WBC eliminator and is Top Rank affiliated. The unbeaten Uzbek is next but I thought I read Salita, his promoter, was looking at the IBF route as he is ranked high by that org.
After that we got Sandor Martin, who could likely be an easy fight to make given his willingness to take on all comers and has fought on matchroom cards several times.

After years of struggling up the rankings and calling out all the top names, get an opportunity to fight a relatively untested Aussie in your home country for $100K+ and a guarantee of a title shot.

The Yankee Doodles will only fight if everything is stacked in their favour. On this occasion, home country advantage plus an American referee & judges weren't enough to make the fight. They needed Top Rank to control the promotion so they can make Liam Paro weigh-in a full weight division below the Light Welter limit. Or so they can use a 27-second long count referee. Again. If well-credentialled American fighters are running from world title eliminators against Liam Paro, there's seriously something wrong over there. Fair dinkum.

In future promoters will ask for proof of citizenship before proceeding with negotiations because fighters from down under give them frightful nightmares.

Can't imagine once Aussie Dave Nyika hits the U.S.A circuit how they will react. His name alone will strike fear into the U.S boxing establishment.

The draw for the IBA World Championships is out. Teremoana Jr fights a Frog on Thursday (Friday our time). Win that & he's in with Jalolov on the Sunday (Monday our time). Jalolov is seeded #3 presumably on the basis of limited appearances in lead-up tournaments. Can't wait to see Teremoana lay out the glass-jawed Uzbek.
