Cinema attendance rates have climbed a bit in the last couple of years. Actually the frequency of viewership from the people do go has sharply increased on previous years.

A huge step up fight for Light. Being the Kiwi I hope he can pull it off we have some good young CW/HW fighters floating around at the moment.

    * Brock Jarvis to return March 1 at Technology Park.
    * Tim Tszyu working with fitness guru Shuan Kober in Phuket.
    * Interesting to see where Tej Singh goes from here. The divisions below him 154 and 168 lb above him are stacked but the MW is not.
    * This Sun 23 is day full of boxing coverage on Fox Sports 507.
The first card is the Whyte vs Chisora rematch from 5 .00 am to 11.00 am. AEST.
    Undercard includes
    Ryan Walsh vs Reece Bellotti
    Cristofer Rosales vs Charlie Edwards
Joshua Buatsi vs Renold Quinlan ( Aust )
Then as expected the PBC contract with Fox is paying dividend's for Aust Fox subscribers.
    Fox 507 12.00 pm to 3.00 pm . AEST.
Jermell Charlo vs Tony Harrison for WBC Title 154 lbs. Harrison has power but usually
    gasses .
Jermall Charlo vs Matt Korobov WBC MW Title. Korobov is a late replacement for Willie
Monroe ( banned for illegal substances ) . This fight is on a week notice and its a better
fight but depends if Korobov can lose the weight as usually he is a SMW / LHW.

A hard one to pick. Flanagan is more noted for his losses than wins. He looked ok in his losses against world level operators. Light koed Bryant quickly which is a career best performance. A true 50/50 fight in my book.

The nagging question I have is who will play Anthony Mundine?

I understand producers have approached Shakin' Stevens for the part.

He's old, over-the-hill & has Mundine's leg movements from the Horn fight down-pat.

Negotiations have stalled though on the amount of screen-time Shakin' will receive.

    Only 96 seconds.

Would never watch it . In reality da storytelling is about Rushton , how a sisey boy went to Rushton to learn some boxin now rushton want's da world to cee how good a trainer he is WTF . Rushton should make a move about Mundine an his father an close da gap an so on . Mundine has done way more than Horn has

    * Former Manly kickboxing and boxing champion Adam Watt who suffered brain damage after a convicted murderer bashed him with a 5kg Breville sandwich maker inside a pillowcase at Silverwater Jail has won negligence case against the State. The damages amount rewarded has yet to be calculated.
    * Renold Quinlan now stopped in 3 of his last 4 fights. Yes they were good fighters but money is not everything and time to re - valuate your career.
    * Jack Brubaker , Paul Fleming and Luke Jackson all successful Fri night by un dec .
    * Liam Paro WBO no 5 at 140 lbs returning against Italian Massimiliano Ballisai Feb 16.
    * Kye Mackenize formerly WBO no 2 at 135 lbs dropped from ratings after loss to Francis Chua and no longer ranked in Top 15.
    * Jai Opetia WBO no 9 at CW fight with Bilal Laggoune which has been postponed twice for the moment seems to be off. Bilal is now IBF no 7.
    * Michael Zerafa valiant performance against Kell Brooks did not go unnoticed. Before the fight he was WBA no 15 and is now ranked WBA no 8 .

That promotion on Friday night featuring Jack Brubaker, Paul Fleming & Luke Jackson would have been worth seeing if all of the fights went the distance. Whoever went along would have got their money's worth.

Glad Jai Opetaia isn't going to Belgium. Whatever were they thinking agreeing to go there in the first place? Plenty of decent cruisers for him to fight out here. What about sorting out that Kiwi Commonwealth games silver medalist? Maybe after a fight with Mark Flanagan so he can gauge where he's at by comparison. Even Blake Caparello has fought at cruiser recently.

Renold Quinlan's fight getting short-circuited was disappointing. I don't think the other guy should have been DQ'd but not giving Quinlan a decent amount of time to recover from what was a blatant foul just wasted everyone's time. The other guy could have done with some decent rounds that Quinlan potentially could have given him.

One thing the fight did bring home to me is that when Damien Hooper relaunches he's really got to knuckle down and string the wins together. He was one of the most talented light-heavies out of the class of 2012 but time is marching on. The guy who stopped Quinlan is a bronze medalist from the class of 2016. Hooper needs to get cracking or it's all going to pass him by. Glad to see he's on the Paul Gallen v John Hopoate promotion. At least that shows someone is looking out for him.

Anthony Mundine is calling for a rematch with Jeff Horn. I think Horn will be moving onto bigger & better things. That guy who beat one of the Charlos yesterday looks beatable.

If Anthony is looking for a better performance to finish up on in a decent fight, how about Tim Tszyu? Let's call it "A Sydney Story".

    Aus Boxing Update.
    * Aus WW Champ Tysinn Best set to defend his Title agianst Dillin Bargero on Liam Paro undercard.
    * Aust HW Champ Demsey Mckean set to defend title March 16 opponent TBA.
    * Lucas Browne hoping to be David Price next opponent.
    * Jack Brubaker who is probably rated just out of Top 25 was given a tough time by Larry Siwu. Tim Tszyu completely dominated Siwui in stopping him in 4 rds. Maybe Tim is really a future top 10 fighter ?

    * Hosking Promotion has down for April 6 at Malvern IBF no 12 at 108 lbs Randy Petalcorin who in last fight was stopped in 4 rds fighting for vacant IBF Title. Wonder who he is fighting ? Could it be Hosking promoted Andrew Maloney even though he fights at 115 lbs ?

I always thought Larry Siwu was decent. Good win for Jack. The best domestic opponent for him would be Cameron Hammond. That would be a really well matched fight & a big win for whoever emerged victorious.

Tim Tszyu is at an important stage of his career where they really need to select the right opponents for him to develop his skills. One good hard 10-rounder under his belt against someone bordering on world class would do wonders for him. I'd bring out a guy like Wale Omotoso. He'd give Tszyu 10 very hard rounds. He's been inactive over the past 12 months so won't be razor sharp but is still far better than anyone else Tszyu has been in with.

Another good opponent for Junior Tszyu would be that American who came out here to spar with Jeff Horn, Ray Robinson. A very experienced & capable southpaw who Tszyu would learn a lot from by fighting. Like Omotoso, he's been inactive in terms of actual fights so won't be razor sharp. Still a very good opponent though.

Then look to fights against the likes of Sam Colomban, Anthony Mundine & Michael Zerafa. I'd throw the likes of Jamie Weetch & Dwight Ritchie in the mix as worthwhile opponents also. If Tszyu could get his hands on the national title, he could progress his career by making some meaningful defences of it against the guys mentioned.

The guys I'd like to see Demsey McKean defend his title against are Willis Meehan and/or Joe Goodall. Fights like that would bring a bit of life to an otherwise dull domestic h/w fight scene.

Andrew Moloney is the big hope for a world title next year. He was matched tough last start but still won well so top guys aren't going to want to face him out here unless there's money in it for them.

Tim Tszyu next fight is for the vacant CMW Title on Feb 8 on the Gallen vs Hopate undercard with Tszyu fighting the aggressive but light hitting Englishman Adam Harper who is 9 - 1 0 ko. Harper fought in March against Michael Zerafa for the CMW Tiltle and Zerafa won in a shutout on pts.
Still a good litmus test for Tsyzu where he should gain some invaluable experience and win on pts.

Very exciting to see Junior Tszyu fight for the Commonwealth championship. Particularly the Light Middleweight championship which is a belt Troy Waters used to own.

If he wins, I hope we see him defending the title here against worthy Australian & NZ challengers. Would be a great way to develop Tszyu's skills, keep the sport ticking over domestically & provide decent paydays all round.

If marketed correctly, I think being Commonwealth champ could be a very useful promotional tool.

Most of the names mentioned on this thread as prospective opponents for Tszyu could be matched with him in Commonwealth title fights.
