Aussie Dave has plenty of good guys to spar with up there in Qld but it costs money to get good opponents. That's where television coverage is essential b/c that's where the money comes from.

I'm concerned that Jai Opetaia's first title defence is heading to purse bids. Let's hope Fast Eddie feels like reaching into his pockets or Jai will be defending in the other guy's backyard.

do you think kambosos should just use his big mouth and target davis or garcia for a big payday or just fight lesser opponents and pick up a few wins and tell everybody that he's the best anyway? lol

Les Fear should have been drug tested after scoring Agboegbulen-Harris a draw.

Yep, in Gatton on Noel Thornberry's show.
Also, Jackson England will be on the card.

Yeah Kato isnt totally useless fighter. David is 28 next month though, time is still there at his weight division but he's at risk of slipping behind. Where his location is doesn't serve his boxing career well but it does make some wholesome farm life tiktoks.

I've been following Dave for a while since his good efforts at the world champs. Thought he looked a different fighter back then. Had more swagger about him. This Dave looks to be more refined but also looks to get a little sloppy in the pros. I expected him to look far better and razzle dazzle a little more. Looks very green and, to the eye, doesnt seem to be progressing quickly. Looked better early on in the pros. Maybe it's just a bit of a learning period and a bit of a grind. Hopefully it all comes together soon and he can combine the new found skills, pro experience with his awkard, slick style from the amateurs and really begin to impress in the next few fights against Aussie journeymen. I'm thinking kiwis Charalampous (sp), Mose Aumatagai (whose own career seems to have stalled after David Light loss), aussies Kelleher and later on Flanagan. Still I have this bad feeling he might disappoint. Just seems to be something missing, something that isn't quite elite but a good amateur who will be an okay pro, might be in a commonwealth eliminator vs an Issac Chamberlain type, come up short. And suddenly he's 31, 32.

It's disappointing seeing him fight bums like this, and the Marsters guy was some idiotic slugger who can be a banana skin for anyone. Why match-make like that? I'm definitely not one for coddling, but there has to be some rhyme or reason.

He may as well come back to NZ with the standard of opposition he's facing in Aus. The guys you mentioned would be far better opposition, even Josh Francis or Panuve Helu would be better than what he's currently facing.

At the rate he's going, he'll end up being the CW version of Ivan Dychko.

Agree 100%. Had him down as one of the next big prospects of this region after the Olympics. Along with Aukuso and Huni. But progress has been slow and as you say, in some respects sharpness is not the same. Maybe he could bunk with Joseph Parker some more, camps in UK can't hurt.

Yeah mate Francis in NZ would've been good at this stage. Helu ...hell can he even make CW? Panuve I thought has actually decent skills then went and lost to american Ferguson. I think Helu was a wasted Talent and intuition says he wasnt the most decicated athlete, to put it politely.

Nyika is only 6 0r 7 fights in, and sure bring him along slowly and all of that, but there is a part of me that thinks the opposition could be a tad bit better. 10-0 versus the Charalampouses and Bryants of the world? Yeah that seems a little undershot.
