Alcohol and substance abuse , but tonight, i fought won and fell back in love with sport of boxing. Make no mistake. 2019 will be my most successful yet . "

One result we missed a week or two ago was Sam Colomban losing in Korea in an OPBF title shot. He was stopped for the second time in his career coming off a long injury layoff. He still holds the Australian title.

Trent Broadhurst would be a good opponent for Damien Hooper. Hooper needs to get to 20-1 & then fight Marcus Browne who I'm sure would be happy to give him a title shot.

 

Aus Boxing Update.
Some Aust boxers with improvement in world rankings Jan 25.
Billel Dib now no 8 WBA at 130 lbs.
George Kambosos Jr now no 8 WBO and no 11 IBF at 135 lbs.
Liam Paro now no 4 at WBO 140 lbs.
Cammeron Hammond now no 13 at WBA at 147 lbs.
Damien Hooper through inactivity dropped from world rankings at 175 lbs.
The people in charge of Aust Boxing Title have some explaining to do.
SMW Frenchman Faris Chevalier hasn't defended his Aust Title since winning it Sept 10 2016.
JMW Sam Colombian has defended the title since winning it Sept 9 2017.
Sure there have been injuries and postponements but how about keeping the title active ?

 

I took a look at the highlights of Mexican Mungo's fight yesterday. The performance of the Japanese fighter in going the distance would be encouraging for Dennis Hogan who will likely be the next person in the ring with him.

Mexican Mungo is still the biggest Junior Middle I've ever seen but with commitment & the right mindset, it might be possible to do something against him.

Dennis Hogan should get a good preparation for that fight. Sparring with the likes of Jeff Horn and/or Rohan Murdock would be ideal. I think those two as sparring partners would be the right combination of size, strength, speed & skill.

Hogan just needs to make sure he gets over to the US a full two weeks before the fight & does some sparring over there in week 1. We don't want him dropping off after he leaves Brisbane the way Jeff Horn did when he went over there to fight Crawford.

There are ways of doing these things & Hogan needs to do them right to have a chance.

 

Hooper what a shame he is a drug'o in an out of jail not a nice man . He won't make it hope he gets KO . Tim on da other hand hope he doe's well , hope Tim Tszyu get's win on 8 th February ,Tim's sparing mate Rocky Jerkic wish a win as well on da fight night .

 

I want to see Hooper get his act together & put a few wins on the board. He's good enough to at least fight for a world title but it needs to start in a fortnight's time if it's ever going to happen. No question he's volatile but it's time for the erratic out of the ring behaviour to end & for him to focus on achieving something as a professional boxer. It's time for him to start being a responsible adult.

I'm excited to see Tszyu fight for the Commonwealth title in only his 12th pro fight. He should win & if he does, his team needs to make sure he gets the right fights to turn him into a world class fighter. There's plenty of good opponents out there for Tszyu to defend the Commonwealth title against - Wale Omotoso, Dwight Ritchie, Michael Zerafa, Jamie Weetch & Bowyn Morgan. Throw in fights with some decent Americans (Ray Robinson & Charles Hatley have both been out to Australia before) & maybe a shot at the WBC International title and that will keep Tszyu busy for the next couple of years. Winning the Commonwealth title would be a good start.

 

I wish Tim Tszyu to go all da way , he need's good Fight's under his belt to help him get to da top . As for Hooper he is done for . Good that Rocky Jerkic is back boxing wish him well on da 8 th February , Tim fighting as well . Wish more would happen for Akkawy as they are good boxer's for Australia they should do well if someone could have da gut's to back em up .

 

You r not wrong there Juppity Aust Boxing Body is a Joke . Faris Chevalier no one wanted to fight him once he won da Australian Title , an it's Australian Boxing Body that should of ordered someone in da top 5 to fight , or loose you're ratings . same for Rocky Jerkic won Australian Title no one wanted to challenge Rocky as well Australian Boxing failed these to boxer's they should of ordered someone in da top 5 to fight . But Faris an Rocky were asked to give da titles up , " So that other Boxer's could Fight For da Vacant Title " witch is so wrong done by Australian Boxing Body . It looks da Boxing Board of Australian take's Money under da Table , witch is a shame . I feel for Faris an Rocky that was not nice of them . We're is Faris Chevalier did that make him walk away from da sport , thought Rocky Jerkic did to , but cee that he is fighting 8th February . Fancy that ay winning da Australian Title an then being told to relinquish da title so that some other boxer's can fight for it . Australian Boxing Body must be getting " Blackmailed " an are stuck in a big Mess .

 

Looks likely Dennis Hogan will face Munguia for the WBO Title on the Canelo vs Jacobs May undercard. Hogan who is managed by Paul Keegan was hoping to face Munguia in Brisbane but Hogan lacks power and winning a dec against one of Golden Boy fav fighters looks mission impossible in the States.
DDP replay on Jan 23 of its All or Nothing Show was watched by over 25000 homes a good figure for a replay. This show should have been shown live on Fox instead of the Stuart Duncan / Dennis Lonergan Joshua Parker Kiwi card which they choose to televise on the same night instead of DDP show.
Johnny Lewis Star Series lacks star firepower. WW Ben Savva is the headline fight at the moment for the April 28 card .Queensland is definitely the capital of Aust boxing with Vic second.
WBA no 4 at SMW Bilal Akkaway next fight is on the May Canelo vs Jacobs undercard. Lets hope its televised on what will be a massive PPV show.
