you're right boys. US star rubbishes Tszyu claims after withdrawal (msn.com) They saw the pot of gold under the rainbow or whatever the **** it is and went for it. Why not? Get that massive pay day while you can.
He ended his career with a record of 43-5 with 27wins by KO One of his losses a controversial one to Manny Pacquiao where he dropped Manny. Skinny was a brutal body puncher
He dropped Manny? WTF? Controversial in what sense? I can't comment really Goodman get's it done and he's still got a lot left in the tank. Hussein's were always good fighters. I don't wanna disrespect any of the lads.
Yeah mate back in around 2000/2001 Skinny fought Manny for a regional title. He dropped him with a stiff jab/short left hook and Manny did seemed at least dazed. Fenech will still tell anyone that listens that Manny got a long count and the ref only recently came out and confirmed he did give Manny a lot of extra time to recover. I think this has been covered a lot of times that Manny definitely wasn’t down for 10 and the count is whatever the ref deems anyway. It was more the long time Manny got before action resumed. Skinny Hussein was one of my favourite Aussie boxers growing up. He wasn’t the all around technical boxer his brother was but he was more suited to the pro ranks with his fight changing power, especially with that left to the body. Which accounted for something like 90% of his stoppages. It was one of the best in the world and that’s even with Mickey Ward bouncing around. Hussein was a little mismanaged as his level of opposition was pretty poor and to me it seemed to make him to reliant on that one weapon and he could lack mental focus to control a whole fight. Seemed his most well known for noble losing efforts such as dropping the great Manny Pacquiao, having Oscar Larios very hurt in the early parts of their fight and giving Scott Harrison a hell of a run for his money in their title fight. It didn’t help his last name was Hussein when he was coming into his prime in the early 2000’s. As shown by his brother getting “randomly” stopped by US customs for several hours and questioned.
****! The dogs harrassed him because of his last name. More like jealousy really. I had no idea about him dropping Manny and Manny getting a long count. Hussein boys and trainers are very, very good. I didn't realise how strong the middle eastern boys are until recently. They don't back down. Dib's are good fighters. I like them.
He fought an over the hill Manny in 2019, and lost. Manny was well past it then. So too was Keith. Shambolic. Horrible match making.
He won't be the only Aussie featured in a prominent position on the card either, with long-time rival Michael Zerafa reportedly in line for a WBA middleweight title bout against current champion Erislandy Lara in the co-main, according to Boxing Scene. At this stage, neither fight has been formally announced by either Tszyu or Zerafa's promoters - but all signs point to an Aussie takeover in Sin City later this year.
I noticed Jai Opetaia's fight with Briedis has been removed from the Tyson Fury show on Boxrec. Hopefully just an anomalous reading & not a reaction to the rumours of their sparring session. Could be a story that hasn't broken yet.
