People love criticizing Huni while they watch him. He's 24 and 9-0.... They're rushing him if anything.

Talking about potential Joyce or Dubios matchup. Madness

He could've and really should've been stopped in the last minute, Lerena let him off the hook. Otherwise he boxed well and won 7 of the rounds against someone much more experienced than him in the pro scene.

Does need 2 or 3 more fights at least before he steps up to anyone in the top 15 though.

Lorena 'could've and really should've stopped' Dubois. Dropped him 3 times in the first round.

Agree we need to be patient with Huni as he accumulates pro experience.

What was required with Huni was two years of development fights based in Australia building his profile with general sports fans & developing his skills as a professional fighter. That went out the window when Foxtel pulled the plug on Dean Lonergan. Huni has a 5-fight deal with Matchroom which is intended to progress him through to a world championship fight. He's now two fights into that deal so I won't be surprised in the least if they push ahead with Joe Joyce or Daniel Dubois next up. It's a crash or crash-through strategy. He needs a two-year detour in order to be developed properly but that's not going to happen (unless he loses, in which case I guess they could then go down that path). On the plus side, it's going to be exciting seeing him in with a big name in the H/W division next up. Win & he's a top 10 guy.

At this stage Huni is naturally a sitting duck for a seasoned veteran. Look at Richard Torrez, he's faced 9 journeyman carefully managing his career and development. Same age and experience level. It's not a race in the HW division, athletes peak in their early mid 30s. Don't see the need to push Huni for a loss or unnecessary damage so early on in his career.

Nikita Tszyu will fight Mazoudier imo. Koen will win on Wensdee in Wollongong then this match up will take place.

The Butcher will carve him up. Sliced and Diced. Raw.

Don't know about a sitting duck, but he's certainly vulnerable. I don't think they're going to dial it back though. I reckon they will go all-in against Joe Joyce or Daniel Dubois. He probably should be facing someone like Carlos Takam next. In fact, what he really needs is 2 to 3 years of kayoing substandard opposition which is what the likes of Jared Anderson & Richard Torrez are currently doing. That's not happening though b/c that's 2 to 3 years of spending money rather than making it. Instead of worrying about that though, I'm just going to enjoy the excitement of it. As a wise man once said, 'just go with it'. Behind Huni, we've got Jai Opetaia & the bloke on the Olympics team so it's not like Australia's future fortunes in the Heavyweight division are solely tied to Justis Huni. Joe Joyce is old & slow. Let's see what Huni can do with him. I think he's a preferable opponent at this point to a banger like Daniel Dubois. It won't be easy, but I think Huni can UD him.

Yeah it was a good win for Huni. His feet were touching the edge of the fire but he showed heart, which is underrated by some here.

I think it's super refreshing to be honest. His team back him and his ability. He'd have the best resume in boxing currently for a fighter with less than ten fights I'd say. And you know what... a loss isn't the end of the world either. I would like to see him in with someone a bit more cumbersome. He's essentially fought two Cruisers in his last couple and I'd argue his true strengths, his handspeed footwork and angles haven't truly shone like they would against a slower opponent. Either way, I'm sitting back and enjoying the ride.

I reckon Huni's next fight will be against Joe Joyce. Terrific fighter, but he's old & slow. Justis is young & fast.

The World will be on notice if Huni fights Joyce. If Huni wins, Australian boxing will have established a beachhead in the Heavyweight division. That's in addition to currently ruling the Cruiserweight division & having a viable contender in the Olympic Super Heavyweight division.

Once Australian boxing has established a beachhead in the Heavyweight division, we roll out the heavy armour & artillery & take over.
