We're very fortunate to have a fighter as good as King Timmy to follow. I agree with he & his team taking on Fundora at short notice & continuing on today despite the cut. The show must go on. King Tim backed up his pre-fight statements that he's an old school fighter.

Congratulations to Beanstalk on a strong display coming off a devastating loss. From everything I've seen of him, he & his family are a credit to the sport. He's very modest, humble & a hell of a fighter. We've known he was for real from when he fought Daniel Lewis.

Back on King Timmy, it's been a hell of a ride so far. Looking forward to what's to come from here. Whatever it may be.

Commiserations to Michael Zerafa also. He's a much better fighter than we saw today. Can't afford to go into fights like that coming off 500-days of inactivity.

Tim would have iced that mother ****er if not for that cut.

I can't wait until the rematch he will pulverise him.

Hello Boyz & Girlz. Before we turn the page on our 0 and 3 weekend, I thought I'd add my take on King Timmy's situation. As I've already stated, I agree with proceeding with the fight against Beanstalk & also continuing on post the cut despite doing so costing the King his Crown. The show had to go on & thanks to King Timmy, it did. Twice. The only criticism I would have levelled at his team would be if they didn't close a cut that was capable of being closed. The view of those with expertise in such matters is that it was a shocker & the corner should have pulled him out. I think we can take from that the cut wasn't capable of being closed therefore his corner is in the clear from my perspective. As I've said more than once now, the show had to go on & it did. Anyone who paid to see the fight got their money's worth which was the bottom line from the night, imo.

One thing I did want to address though is the notion that it's a foregone conclusion that King Timmy will win the rematch. Hate to break it to everyone, but that's not the case. And that's even if the rematch takes place out here. Beanstalk won't be coming in off a kayo defeat next time or twelve months of inactivity. And while it's very easy to solely attribute the cut to the wheels coming off, that may not have been the only contributor. Coming off twelve months of inactivity & a brutal kayo defeat, Beanstalk may have needed a few rounds to get going. That he started to land at the same time as King Timmy got cut may be due to several factors. Certainly the cut was one of them, but don't dismiss Beanstalk warming to his task either. Which brings me specifically to the rematch. I can recall when Jeff Fenech got shafted against Azumah Nelson in their first fight that everyone assumed he would get revenge second time around with the rematch out here. Didn't happen. King Timmy's going to have to fight well to win the rematch. He'll start favourite but that doesn't guarantee him anything.

His Promoters, Manager & Team are all declaring that he'll win the rematch. Given how he looked in the first couple of rounds, there is every reason to be confident. It would be foolish to think it's a foregone conclusion though. In this sport, history has a way of repeating. By all means get King Timmy the rematch & try to get it for him out here. But be aware that a win isn't a foregone conclusion & a massive amount of work will be required to finish in front next time around. Don't get me wrong. King Timmy can do it, but I reckon Beanstalk will be harder to beat second time around.

And if the rematch is over there, let's not forget that King Timmy's record in the Land of the Doodle stands at two fights, with one loss & the win coming after King Timmy got knocked flat on his backside. Those are salient reminders of how difficult it is to do well over there. King Timmy had the benefit of good refereeing & favourable scorecards against Beanstalk. If the fight's over there, there's no guarantee he gets both of those next time around. Every fight is different. His team was telling everyone after the Terrell Gausha fight that he only lost the round he got dropped in. They're entitled to their opinion but that's nonsense in mine. King Timmy has a very loyal team but he needs to keep it real in preparing for the rematch & not be blinded by people blowing smoke up his backside.

Good post Sandy. I think the scorecards really favoured Tim and he lost by a wider margin. At times there wasn't enough head movement (many used to say the same about KT) and Fundora really weathered the early storm and made Tim fight his fight. A return bout is going to be far from easy. Fundora showed a lot of grit himself, fighting through a smashed up nose.

nothing wrong with Timmy losing, it happens to most fighters sooner or later.
it will make him hungrier and more determined going forward.

but i hate when he says NO excuses, he lost fair and square but then spends half the time blaming the cut for losing, lol.
same as the media saying how gracious he was, lol.

just once i'd like to see a fighter say no excuses without giving excuses but say next time he's gunna knock the bejesus out of the opponent and make him suffer badly for the loss.
hopefully Tim knocks Fundora out cold in round 1 to make a statement in the rematch.

These AFL guys Swan and Thomas suck. Way worse than any NRL fight I have seen.
They make Justin Hodges look like Tyson Fury.

Yep I don’t know why he didn’t turn pro when he first retired from AFL he would’ve easily beaten all the other footy guys and would’ve likely been capable of being Australian heavyweight champion.
