Brubaker would keep Zerafa honest but I doubt he'd trouble him. I just think Brubaker should stay retired.
Yeah but Mazoudier is a quality operator for domestic level he is tough AF and Zerafa declined a fight with Mazoudier. I think that Zerafa's once decent chin has been cracked I was surprised at how easily old Lara was able to spark him out.
Zerafa says he has apologized to Mercuri and says his brother will not be in his corner again. “My brother threw a punch and that’s not cool at all. “He’s been really apologetic since and I know that’s not in his character. “And if he’s banned, he’s banned. “Even if that isn’t the case I won’t have him in my corner again. “He’s burned some trust with me. “As much as he only had my back – and I do appreciate him standing up for me – it wasn’t on.
George Rose has been quick to make a statement about Zerafa's d.h. brother : “He will be barred from attending all No Limit Boxing fight nights in future and the Combat Sports Authority of NSW have been informed of the decision."
That's great but it's completely out of his hands. Combat Sports Authority of NSW will do what they do in regards to the altercation. They don't care what No Limit does. I'd hazard a guess he'll get a life ban. Poor Tommy will probably get time off too ala Roger Mayweather when he protected Floyd after Zab fouled him twice. CSA of NSW run boxing in NSW...not No Limit.
Not sure how they will react to Tommy Mercuri's role in this? My guess is the worst he will get is a warning. The referee had already waived the fight off and Mercuri was in the ring because he had been attending to Browne since the end of the round. When Zerafa headed over towards Browne's corner, shooting his mouth off, Mercury reacted by shooting his mouth off. I don't think he made any contact with Zerafa. It was just a war of words until Zerafa's d.h. brother decided to snipe Mercuri.
I did find it rather hypocritical of the Rose brothers to say some of things they did about the incident, when only a few years ago at Gallen v Hodges 1 in Brisbane, Matt Rose jumped into the ring and abused the ref for stopping the fight. The ref told him to fck off and get out of the ring. pot-kettle-black banned for life from a No limit show....lol...big fckn deal
CSA are really strict and don't care too much for circumstance from what I can gather. I hope they're lenient considering the stuff said by Zerafa in the lead up. Only contact made was by Zerafa. He was pushing Tommy back with light jabs to the chest. He genuinely looked freaked out. But he caused all this **** with his constantly pathetic behaviour and baiting in the lead up to the fight. He can write his own brother off as much as he wants to, but his brothers behaviour is a reflection of and resulting from Michael's actions. He clearly shouldn't have been in the corner you need to be a loose cannon to do stupid **** like that.
Big week of Australian boxing coming up, lads. A big couple of weeks in fact, coming off a big week. Not sure of television arrangements for all of these shows, but hopefully it's all easily accessible. Tues 3/9 - TJ Doheny v Naoya Inoue for the Undisputed Jr. Featherweight Championship of the World. TJ is the most Irish of the well-credentialed Irish-Australian fighters but looking forward to seeing how he goes against arguably the best in the game. Hopefully it's on Foxsports as most of Inoue's previous fights have been. Sat 7/9 - Alex Winwood v Thammonoon Niyomtrong (aka Knockout CP Freshmeat) for the WBA Minimumweight world title. I think Australia is ready to rule the World in the Minimumweight division. History is on the line - possibly our first ever Minimumweight world championship & would beat Jeff Fenech's record of winning a world title in the least number of professional fights. The guy he's fighting is undefeated & the longest reigning world champion in the business. Should be a good one. It's on the 7-plus app. Sat 14/9 - Aussie Dave Nyika v Blake Caparello & Alex Leapai Jr v Kenny Niko - Two of the best talents in Australian boxing do their bit to restore credibility to the remnants of New Zealand boxing by appearing on a show there. The Kiwis will hopefully produce the same results they did when Joseph Parker & Jeffrey Horndog were on the way up over there. It's on DAZN.
$50 for Inoue vs TJ... Main event can go **** themselves. No wonder everyone's learning the dark arts again
