https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS2HMyESX/ We know Kambosos chasing 140lbs now. So strange to see him with the weight though. Credit to his discipline I suppose Looks slower (Apologies for tik tok)
Jason Moloney very keen to win another world title and heading over to Japan for a month of solid training. Plenty of good little fellas over there. Not that many here.
40 year old Kaye Scott, 4-0 in the pros after an extensive amateur career, has landed herself an IBF title shot. Purse bid October 9th if a deal can't be reached beforehand.
There were rumours years ago that Kahu had passed away but I spoke with him briefly about 10 years ago and he was still very much alive then. Nice guy too.
Big fight tomorrow morning in the Queensland Supreme Court between Tasman Fighters Pty Ltd (Plaintiff) v Teremoana (Defendant). Contrary to media reports, Fast Eddie Hearn & Matchroom are not a party to the proceedings (although the outcome will likely determine whether Teremoana can sign with them). The Stifler's Mum thread's own @ipswich express has filed an affidavit in the proceedings in support of Tasman Fighters. Will be interesting to see how things play out. It's certainly possible to develop a genuine Heavyweight contender in Australia but it will cost big money to do so. Even someone as talented as Teremoana isn't going to generate money in the short term. That's why it strikes me as odd that this is being resolved in court.
Ben Horn returns tomorrow night against the undefeated Jason Mallia, in Melbourne. Joel Taylor also on the card but fighting a novice.
Nothing scheduled in the matter for tomorrow & it was a hearing today so perhaps it's done & dusted. It didn't look particularly complicated. A couple of affidavits filed from either side so perhaps it will be possible for the court to make a decision based on a one-day hearing (assuming there was one today). I'd need to have gone along to know what happened but the Supreme Court of Queensland in Brisbane is a bit far afield for me. Hopefully at least one lazy journo turned up & there's a report in the paper tomorrow.
Janibek defending his IBF middleweight title against Mikhailovich at the Star in Sydney Friday October 4th.
It sounds like Hearn thought he could bully the little guys, Tasman, out of their fighter despite them already having a contract in place. If that's the case, I'm glad the court ruled the way they did.
