reminds me of the regular fox fight nights when there was an entertaining bunch of fights and usually at least one heavyweight fight with bob mirovoc or nathan briggs etc. there were 5-7 very competitive fights. sakio bika, lenny zappavigna etc. etc.
The good ole Fenech fight nights following the Sydney Olympics featuring the likes of Danny Green, Vic Darchinyan, Sakio Bika, Naoufel Ben Rabah & Nader Hamdan. You almost always knew who was going to win but it was interesting watching each of them progress. The shows were on a Friday night. Was a good way to unwind at the end of the working week. Three future world champions were developed from those shows (two of whom were multi-weight world champs with one worthy of being a future Hall of Famer).
Forgot to mention Skinny & Hussy Hussein. They were a feature of those Fenech fight nights. Both contended for world titles. Gairy St Clair was another who appeared on them & actually won one. The Man Mundine also came through at that time. He was the alternative to the Fenech fight nights & won multiple belts. That's a lot of world champs & contenders emerging from a very small pool. If the Brisbane Olympics delivers us that many this thread could be around for a while.
Yeah he won convincingly but Horn made him look pretty average. I don't know if it is just Horn's awkward spoiling style or if Mallia is just not that good.
Very few look good against Ben Horn. He’s awkward and big for the weight. He gave Nikita absolute hell so he’s a tough night out for most I’d say.
Horn is one of those guys who drags you down to his level and never gives anyone an easy night because he is hard to put away. Not unlike Wade Ryan.
