I looked after Shannon for a while and she did get a world title shot during that time over in Korea. She came up just short against the reigning WBA champ. She improved a lot between shots.

 

Carlos Monzon vs Tony Mundine was 50 years ago today.

 

I was ringside you could hear the thud in Janibek’s shots and could see the concussed look on Andrei’s face in the second round brutal stuff.

 

Mikhailovich took absolutely sickening blows, round after round. He won kudos for his bravery, as did Shannon - and rightfully so - but they both had really damaging nights.

Gareth Williams and others close to Shannon should be gently tapping her on the shoulder and saying well played champ, great career but enough is enough.

 

How was the venue?
Looked small and only about 3/4s full

 

Yeah small but was nice and classy ringside was only $200

 

Yeah, i did see over on Ticketek that the tickets were reasonably priced.
Were there any other bouts or just the three televised fights?

 

Just the 3 but there were 4 amateur bouts on after but I didn’t stick around for them I went and hit the tables at the casino
