My fellow Aussie lads who is pumped for Beterbiev Bivol? What are your picks? I am going with Beterbiev TKO 10
I am going with Beterbiev but I am not 100% confident I guess that's one of the reasons this fight is so exciting.
Opetaia Massey will be fun while it lasts I got Jai stopping his after 6 rounds. Massey is a good fighter and a big lad though so this could be interesting.
I hope Beterbiev wins. I think he's been an ATG Light Heavy & this will seal it for him. He's nearly 40 though & is coming back from an injury-enforced layoff. I know he's done that before but you can only do it so many times before it adversely affects performance. The timing might be right for Bivol who seems to have a knack of catching opponents at the right time. Beterbiev for me but with no real confidence. Not a fight I'd invest heavily in for a bet b/c head says Beterbiev is / has been the better fighter but gut tells me 'hold on'. Another reason I'd like Beterbiev to win is b/c there will be nothing left for him to do at Lt Heavy if he wins so he might move up & challenge Jai if he does. I think a fight with Beterbiev would be much bigger for Jai than any Cruiserweight unification contest. And the winner of Jai v Beterbiev could find themselves in with Usyk.
Big couple of weekends coming up for Australian boxing. Our two best fighters going at it one after the other. Hopefully both are IBF world champions at the end of it. I'm looking forward to adding a new member to the Australian boxing IBF World Champions club. The first rule of the IBF World Champions club - "No Horndogs allowed".
Beterbiev started to look more hittable and hurtable at times against Yarde and he is nearly 2 years older now. Bivol's timing may be just right, as you suggested.
Massey went the distance with Parker and hasn't been stopped. It will be interesting to see whether Jai can get him out there.
Waiting to hear back. I'll let you know. Something I recommend everyone in here does is down the "Ringwalks" app. Sounds an alarm when your chosen fight is about to begin. I love it.
It's ten minutes to midnight Friday in my neck of the woods...ten minutes until 3pm on Saturday afternoon in Sydney, aye? The main event is slotted for 6pm EST, so wouldn't tune in any later than 5pm to catch Opetaia vs. Massey - that means 17 hours on. Guess that means 8am on Sunday morning for you.
Main event is scheduled for 1am local time. Opetaia roughly scheduled for 11pm local. Which would be 6am Qld, 7am NSW. I'd be watching from earlier on if possible anyway. Top card.
