A lot of people backed Dana Coolwell. Very disappointing

18 months for the presence of a banned anabolic agent. Probably got off lightly.

Brock clearly been working on his defence.
He ducked a big problem breaking up with Fenech's daughter.

That's pretty poor. The bloke is a super middle. It will be his heavyweight debut.

They aren't fooling anyone here. Very poor record and his ranking reflects that.

Hi Crew - I've been watching the performances of our national team at the World Boxing Cup tournament in Kazakhstan. There have been some good performances but as usual, the judges have put paid to any of our fighters advancing against more fancied opposition. Thought I'd mention the performances of Jye Dixon & Jacob Cassar from overnight. Jai lost a 3:2 split decision to a bloke from Brazil who I've seen a few times before. In what was a close fight, I thought Jai finished over the top of him in the last round but that wasn't enough to get the decision. More frustration was to come with Jacob Cassar's fight against the home-town Kazakh. The Kazakh won the first round clear but Jacob won the second on three scorecards to keep himself in the fight. The third round was his best of the fight & should have resulted in him walking away with a big win (imo). Unfortunately, two of the judges who gave him the second round abandoned him in the last & the Kazakh prevailed. Two judges who had given the Kazakh both of the first two rounds gave Jacob the last. So he won each of the last two rounds 3:2 on the scorecards but still walked away with a 4:1 defeat overall. Hard to take that one, I must say. Maybe we're saving our luck for the World Championships that take place in September? I hope so. Not all bad news over there. In the women's, Lekeisha Pergoliti looked really good beating a Canadian the other night. She's the only Australian fighter I've seen who registered a win (officially). The additional good news is that I don't think it will be her last. She looks like she can go all the way. Both in this tournament & at the Worlds. We've never won a gold medal at world amateur championship (or Olympic) level. Along with Callum Peters (who isn't competing in this tournament), I give her a good chance.
