* Big punching Olympian Daniel Lewis next fight most likely will be at 160 lbs and his trainer reckons he can make 154 lbs. Lewis lost 32 kg overtime to make 168 lbs in his pro debut.
* Dennis Hogan has been training at Wild Card Gym and sparred 8 rds with 2 x World Champ Jerry Vargas under the watchful eyes of Freddy Roach and Glen Rushton.
* Micheal Zerafa has revealed Kell Brook broke his nose in the 1st rd with a right hand and it effected his breathing for the rest of the fight. That makes Zerafa performance even more impressive.
* Blake Caparello has fought in last domestic fight for a while. No rematch for the President as BC chases one last world title shot campaigning overseas.

Good result for that Armenian middleweight on his first fight in Australia - winning the national title. I saw him win a decision against a 20 and 0 guy that I thought was a little fortuitous, although he did appear very big & strong for the weight. And very willing. That aggressive, forceful style plays well here so congratulations to him on becoming national middleweight champ.

Good to see the Victorian officials score it properly also. Let's hope they keep that up so the state of Victoria is a place where all Australian fighters can get a fair go. Not just the locals. Once upon a time, Melbourne was the favourite venue of every fighter in the country.

Interesting that Daniel Lewis is intending to come down in weight. I saw his pro debut & he looks to me like he's really got what it takes. Physically very strong, punches hard, good skills. If he can make Junior Middle, he'll be a major player there very quickly.

Edit - Some talk around that Danny Jacobs watched Lewis' pro debut & decided to hire him as a sparring partner for Canelo. Might need Juppity to confirm.

 

Daniel Lewis is in New York at the present . Lewis agent Peter Mitrevski Jr sent Jacobs camp a video of his pro debut. Impressed Jacobs camp invited Lewis to NY. Lewis is now sparring with Jacobs and by all accounts is holding his own.
* On Tue Jai Opetia will be making a announcement of his next fight.
* This sounds promising . As i mention before Lucas Browne next fight on April 21 is being shown on Fox 506 from 4 .00 am to 7.00 am. But i had a look at Fox Guide on April 21 and it states Boxing Special Fox 505 from 11 .00 am to 2 .00 pm. No mention of what fight it is but the only fight at this time is the Terence Crawford vs Amir Khan at MSG.

* Jeff Horn won't be fighting until Aug / Sept after turning down a bout with former WBA MW Champ Ryota Murata. The Hornet has put family first and walked away from a fight deal worth close to $ 2 M because it clashed with birth of his 2nd child. Horn promoter Dean Lonegran had originally tried to bring out WBA MW Champ Rob Bryant to Aust but had to abandon that plan when the fight financial didn't add up.
Bob Arum then offered the fight with Murata in Tokyo on Jun 2 , that date suited Horn camp , but when the fight was pushed to July 12 the fight was cancelled.
* Dennis Hogan team in the States at is Glen Rushton , assistant Zach Bacigalupo and strength and conditioning coach Chris Muckert a former second rower with the Cowboy's and Parramatta. What happened to Dundee Kim ?
* Danny Green is the mentor of the Maloney twins and believes the pair can both win world titles and fight each other with Perth a likely venue. Danny '' Its a unique story but what you see is what you get. The story transcends boxing , as crazy as it sounds , identical twin brothers , both world champ , unifying a world title and fighting each other. It's never been done before. * Saw a preview of the new Bank West Stadium ( 30000 capacity ) and its state of the art. The owners ( NSW State Gov ) want to show case it to the world with a big boxing fight. How about Punchbowl Bilal Akkway vs Canelo or Sutherland George Kambosos Jr vs Lomachenko ?
* Tim Tszyu first PPV conference. 3 other Big Aust fights to be announced. My guess its Jack Brubaker who has fought at the Star before and has already stated he is getting 10 G for his next fight and one of the big Aust fights will be Jai Opetia fighting.
