Assuming Opetaia is fighting at cruiserweight - as has been reported - that narrows the possibilities of who his opponent might be, dramatically. The only American I can see in any of the organization's top 10s is Brandon Glanton. Glanton is WBC #8. His record is 21-3 and his name might ring a bell because he went the distance but lost to Billam Smith about a year ago.
thoughts on Opetaia aiming straight for Mega-Stardom and aiming for Usyk as his heavyweight debut fight in 12 months or so? beating the heavyweight king who can't be beaten would be making a statement nobody would have expected. i know it's not necessary but if his team thought he had a chance at beating Usyk i would think why not have a crack?
12 months of calling him out and 12 months of clever marketing. if they can get audiences for these other non-events then i'm sure they can get it done and make it big enough $$$$$$ if they wanted to.
if Jai and his team want it it will get done imo. Usyk has beaten all the big drawcards already. Jai is the X factor that has cropped up at the perfect time for himself.
Kelly with the huge boilover against Murtazaliev. He probably got the rub of green a little but just shows you take on a beast like Murtazaliev head on, you lose. Give him angles and movement he had a hard time of it.
