I'm still not convinced the IBF have made up their minds whether Jai Opetaia still holds their title or not.

The IBF's latest press release, dated March 10th, concludes as follows :

'The status of the IBF Cruiserweight Title remains in deliberation. Jai Opetaia made comments during the post-fight press conference that have led the organization’s leadership to question whether he was made completely and fully aware by his advisors of the decisions he needed to make when committing to the bout against Brandon Glanton. The organization intends to look further into this matter.'

As of right now, Jai is the unified Zuffa, Ring, IBF & Lineal Cruiserweight champ.

Needs the WBC, WBA & WBO belts to be considered "Undisputed".

In situations where the other champs don't want the smoke, "Lineal" often suffices but Jai has stated he wants all the bling.

IBF should cease & desist in their persecution of Jai who has done nothing but proudly represent them in spite of overwhelming pressure to do otherwise. It's about time they woke up to themselves & recognised that fact.

It almost sounds like the IBF have woken up to themselves. But I might be giving them too much credit there.

The IBF's last words were : The organization intends to look further into this matter.'

Some advice for the IBF. Get off your lazy, stupid arses and get this bloody thing resolved before you look even stupider than you already do.

Opetaia might be about to play the legal card on the IBF :

An attorney representing Jai Opetaia says the boxer has “good reason to believe” the IBF’s decision to withdraw sanctioning of his title fight with Brandon Glanton was a “product of coordinated, industry-wide collusion designed to punish him for working with Zuffa Boxing and to deter other athletes from doing the same,” per a letter sent to a sanctioning body president that was obtained by The Ring.

“Aided and abetted by other sanctioning bodies and promoters, the IBF's action intentionally inflicted (or threatened to inflict) significant financial and reputational harm on Mr. Opetaia. He is aware of messages between high-level executives essentially admitting to the scheme.”

    Hmmm! Stay tuned...

This could change the game, like Parra calling NRL executives in the Lomax thing.

Also let's not lose sight of the fact that at this point in time Zuffa belts carry similar prestige to school merit certificates, and may never be more than this.

Zuffa have been around for about 5 minutes. But I'm not underestimating them at all and begrudgingly, either is Eddie Hearn.

IMO, Zuffa are going to be serious players and as White continues to say, judge us on what we have done at the end of the year.

Looking forward to this one. Singh is never an easy night out, ask Hardman and Wells.

Paulie has said that Zayas is a big JMW and has problems making the weight and hearing rumours he will be moving up to MW soon .So if Tszyu beats Nurja and Spence then he will be WBO no 1 and fight for the vacant title .

Nobody has rolled through Singh to date, so if he does it'll be a decent statement. Waitai has been contacted previously, see what happens in the future. Him and Reeves is a decent scrap.

While on the subject of McIntyre he was recently in Vegas for the Opetaia fight. Sparred Lester Martinez and went really well. Martinez is no joke. I think the kid has a bright future.

Tszyu will beat Nurja, you can take that to the bank. Nurja's record is extremely padded.
