This article claims that Opetaia is in talks with Mikaeljan and that Turki will pay to sue the IBF. https://www.foxsports.com.au/boxing...n/news-story/bac64526fbd1ebf59e6f4d99d9787d49
Winner gets a shot at Jai's title? What a joke. Nice guy Nyika got nuked. Only thing he deserves is to have iron in his jaw and not be dubbed David " No Chin " Nyika.
According to their rules, the IBF is totally within their rights to strip Jai after he elected to fight for a non-sanctioned organisation's title. All the promotional material leading up to the event clearing mentioned it was for the ZUFFA World Cruiserweight Title. There was no mention of the IBF title in any of the promotional material. This content is protected His manager also mentioned that he was aware of the possible risk of Jai being stripped, yet decide to continue with the bout. And now that the IBF have enforced their rules, his manager and promoter are all upset and are having a whinge. If there is legal action, hope the IBF have a win and Turki can jam his money, just like with the LIV Golf. Jai is one of my fav fighters, but just feel he has been let down very badly by his management team.
JUSTIS HUNI IN LINE FOR ASHES BLOCKBUSTER Australian heavyweight Justis Huni looks set to headline an Australian pay-per-view event in August, and potentially in a massive Ashes showdown against Englishman Richard Riakporhe. This column can also reveal Huni has agreed to at least two more fights with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, with a win in August then guaranteeing a spot on the undercard of Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua at the back end of this year. Speaking with Fox Sports Australia earlier this month, Hearn tossed up a host of big names for Huni next up, including Deontay Wilder, Jarrell Miller and Derek Chisora. However, it’s understood Huni would instead prefer to punch back into the world rankings against Riakporhe, who sits No.10 with the WBC and No.11 with the IBF after previously campaigning as a cruiserweight. https://www.foxsports.com.au/boxing...n/news-story/bac64526fbd1ebf59e6f4d99d9787d49
Riakporhe has filled out at heavy pretty well but he should be easy work for Justis. Huni will maul him on the inside, RR loves hugging but can’t fight for shite in close.
Riakporhe is a blown up bloated butterbean who Huni will slice, dice, rattle and roll on a bad day. Justis gets it done.
I would have thought the winner of next month s Billam-Smith vs Rozicki would be in line for a shot. This is ok I guess but I dont think it will be competitive in a sporting point of view.
The winner of the Nyika-Masson IBF elimination bout on August 8 bout is set to be thrust into a world title showdown for the IBF cruiserweight crown against Britain’s Viddal Riley later this year. https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/news/s...masson-auckland-to-host-ibf-title-eliminator/
