Tim sent $10,000 US Dollars to each of his sparring partners for their hard work during the camp. He's an exceptional dude. His character is exemplary.
Mate i get it, you all thought you were getting another kostya, not even close. the fight against Ryan was when i first realised this kid has no defence as Wade dropped him like a school case as did Gausha, Fundora, Bakram also. the fact remains Tim gets bashed and mugged every time he steps up to champion ship class. '' best ever performance'' you have to be kidding. Spence was completely SHOT. Paulos opponent is ranked 112 in the world. Callums opponent is ranked131 so i will wait till i see them with fighters ranked in the under 100s before i pass judgement. I am impressed that you remember my post from ten years ago. Mate i appreciate your AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI attitude but the boxing world does not operate like that.
Tszyu was pretty green in the Ryan fight. None of us thought we were getting another Kostya that's a bit of a leap lad but Tim has a solid resume better than a lot of current world level fighters and one of the best for an Aussie in a very long time with wins over Harrison, Spence, Mendoza, Horn, Hogan, Gausha, Ocampo, Joey Spencer, even his last two tune ups were against undefeated fighters. Not saying it is elite but it is solid AF especially considering the manner in which he took some of these guys out in over the last 5 years.
I've just been told that Tim via text has informed Jeff Fenech that his services are no longer required. Another one bites the dust. Fenech responded " not on my watch "
Nah lad Fenech isn't going anywhere, Tszyu was very happy with Fenech. I also thought Fenech was great in the corner he was giving good advice.
Good win for Tim, though Spence looked washed for mine. Glad to hear he’s hanging them up. I had serious concerns for him heading into this and you could see his feet weren’t under him from the get go. Still, Tim did what he had to do and Middleweight is currently a wasteland so he’s the big fish now. I was impressed with Paulo in patches. Fought the wrong fight for most of it but made the necessary adjustments and got an emphatic win. They’re the sort of fights you should be learning from. Same with Callum Peters tbh. I’d love to see him stop trying to throw 200 punches a round and sit down on his shots a bit more. His defence is a real concern but perhaps he tightens that up as he steps up. We shall see.
Hey Prowler, That list of Tims 0pponents only one of them is ranked in the top 50, Mendoza at 47. Mendoza then fought Boachec and he failed to win a round. A couple of them are ranked over 100. We will just have to wait and see how Tim goes at 160. I think once he fights a genuine 160 pounder champion he fails. But i have been wrong before.
Nikita fight is on the Gold Coast. Winner to take on Josh Kelly. I think Nikita can beat Kelly. I rate Nikita better than Tim.
Terrific performances from the Aussie lads at the Commonwealth games tonight. Jye Dixon (Bantamweight) & Jacob Cassar (Welterweight) both through to the semi-finals by defeating a Bangladeshi & a Canadian respectively. Jye far too good stopping his opponent in the second round. Jacob came from behind against the Canadian to record one of the best wins I've seen from him. Tremendous stuff. It was worth staying up late to see those performances from the young blokes.
