WBF you say? One man comes to mind, I like him, he is a god guy and taught me how to jab effectively, a great guy and a mate whenever I see him but world champ? http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=5123&cat=boxer
And how could I mention Dave without mentioning this man, also a top guy that had been around and was a good local fighter, but WBF you asked for? http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=4232&cat=boxer
I remember seeing Dave on some current affairs show in about 85. They wondered out loud if he could be the next Ali :rofl They put the question to his trainer Ron? Russell and he said "er well um ee ain't got dem reflexes, ya see" Dave played a bit of footy for Boronia I think. You can just imagine his opponent crapping themselves whenever they went near the ball :bbb
I have no doubt about that How about Scott Brouwer the porsche driving punching accountant, did he win some ridiculous title?
I know Scotty, a good man, he was Commonwealth champ I thought, until I read your post and looked into his record, he was Aussie lightweight champ, then fought a, but lost, WBC international lightweight title fight. He did win the Australasian lightweight title however. In those days it was a respected title. Scott's achievements are well respected among the local boxing community, I have never seen him fight.
When Scott was fighting the alpha boys were busy breeding like rabbits and making babies all over the place, so that may be why I thought he won a 'world' title Lester Ellis descended to beating one Rocky 'kid' Berg for his WBF title :blood
