I didn't watch the whole fight but a big majority here think Calzaghe won the fight...so:

    For sues2nd - for 3 months, as agreed.:good

    - picture of Hopkins of your choice.

    For mike464 - for 1 month, as agreed.:good

    - your current avatar.

For Marnoff - for 1 month, as agreed.:good

    - picture of your choice.

Dorfmeister...we had a one month avatar bet. I said Hopkins wouldn't win more than 3 clear rounds; you said he'd win more than 3 clear rounds; did he win more than 3 clear rounds??:?

If so, let me have my avatar, please.

    If not, here's your avatar:

    - picture of your choice, different from the one you have on, right now.

    :good

I could tell you my opinion about rounds won by Hopkins but I suppose the deal was based on the official scores:

    This content is protected

    And as you may see - Ted Gimza gave Hopkins rounds 1, 3, 4 and 11;
Adalaide Byrd gave Hopkins rounds 1, 2, 5, 6, 10 and 11. Just Chuck Giampa gave only three rounds to Hopkins ( rounds 1, 2 and 11). So I don't want to bend the rules but the majority of the judges gave more than 3 rounds to him ( despite one having been a 10-8 round).

There was an avatar bet thread that was in the lounge

I dont know where it went

    I think a good 20-30 people participated.

someone should bump it. I will honor it if they can bump it.

No. This wasn't the deal. The judges were always going to give more to Hopkins, we thought. The deal was that we would decide, objectively. I haven't seen the fight yet so I'll let you decide. Did Hopkins win more than 3 rounds clearly?

Poll it, maybe. I think most would agree that Hopkins won more than 3 rounds, but maybe that's just cause I thought he did.

    Oh I know!

I had Hops winning 4, with an even round (that would probably lean towards Hops, if anyone). That's 115-113 Cal.

But you know some people around here. They are actually ANGRY at those who scored a close fight FOR Calzaghe! :-( As if Calzaghe CLEANLY swept 8 of the rounds. (Yeah, right).

Calzaghe won about 4, maybe 5, rounds clean. Hops about 3. The other five were close as hell and almost swing rounds.

    Watched the fight...

Hopkins won 1 round clearly - the first.

I scored it 114-113 for Calzaghe, but it could have been wider.

So...I guess I won our bet, Dorfmeister!;)

If you tought Hopkins won that fight you should STOP watching boxing.

After Joe got through the first few he took over. I thought it was easier to score than the Kessler fight.

That's bull Decebal. If you scored it 114-113 Calzaghe like I did, how come Hopkins just won 1 round and our bet was based on official scores ( 2 judges gave more than 3 rounds to Hopkins). There is a huge abyss between what we wish to happen ( humiliation of Hopkins) and what really happens ( close decision for Calzaghe)... Calzaghe said that he was happy to come out with a SD, that he always knew that that would be a difficult fight for him, that Hopkins is a great inside fighter, that he used all the tricks in the Game to do it, including faking injuries, and that's how it should go... Hopkins is clearly on a state of denial ( that Joe didn't beat him but the judges and the ref did - that's BS like after Taylor in July 05) but he was not the only one to come out with talk before the fight ( that Calzaghe wouldn't be able to go 12 with him to some idiot like Jason Edelson), Calzaghe kept on saying that he would dominate 12 rounds to none against Hopkins and even before that, that he would have Hopkins in his resumé as a TKO in 6 - fact is that he hit 475 punches on thin air and most of 232 landed were not really hurting to say the least. Truth be told, Calzaghe won the fight, it was a close one and many like Barry McGuigan expected the worst in the beginning. I personally don't give a F*** where Bernard or RJJ go, I'm not putting my money to see that ****. As Salaamu Alaikum.
