    He was one of the guys that came to mind although I'm not sure if he won a "world" title.

    agree with john ruiz average but tough, sam peter all round average , steve forbes , hasim Rahman a bit better then average at times but alot of the times average.

    what did gatti have that made him above average besides heart. maybe above average power but that's about it.

    a (sometimes) fight-changing left hook. he was definitely above average when you watch his fights against ruelas and rodriguez.

    Gatti might of had average skill sets but he was not average. He had some power, great heart and was champion in 2 divisions. He defended his titles 3x(130) and 2x(140). Plus was in some great fights. He is an iconic figure in boxing. No average Joe does what he did.

    Thats a common misconception about Froch. He is well above average in terms of skills, he just often decides to go mano a mano. He was an world amateur bronze medallist at a young age.

    I'd count motivation as a vital tool and skill. Hence Douglas' skillset was rather incomplete.
