A name along those lines that pops into my head is Melton Bowen. Very game guy. Even his match with a old Tony Tubbs had two knockdowns! The Thunder and Carl Williams bouts were both very fun brawls.

Dude managed to make a Paulie M fight super-exciting & dramatic. That's no small accomplishment!

Iran Barkley. Maybe not average, but I actually don't think even Gatti was average and I also mentioned him. They are obviously above average but they aren't elite fighters.

It's hard to give good fighters good fights routinely if you are average.

Sergiy Derevyanchenko is the modern example of this. Most of his fights were great to watch, even when he mostly falls short from being victorious.

Adrian Granados! He was +900 to beat Imam, which I had a hundred dollars on. I vividly remember people saying Imam had the defense of Mayweather and the punching power/technique of Hearns. It was wild.

    Barkley?
    Gatti?

These guys were legit world class operators with some big wins. Far from average/poor fighters.

Perhaps someone like Bobby Crabtree fits the bill, tho i dont rate him as a poor fighter. Just one who had his level.
