I am a few months away from being 55 (moan...) and I don't fancy myself as being a boxing expert, but I've followed boxing since the early 60's,and benefitted from my dad and uncle's recollections of boxing in the 40's and 50's enough to be somewhat familiar with the lore of those times. My own particular favorite decade was ,of course, the seventies, and I'm quite positive about the general superiority of the fighters of that time, as well as the great fights of that free tv era.
38, and I still use the term "awesome" from time to time. I really should grow up, soon. :lol Happy birthday, Senya! :good
I am as old as you wish to believe. My friends are the friends you imagine. I will say, however, that I prefer ye olden boxers because they were: - More interesting - More respectable - Better, on average I have no reason to be biased, it is just what I see on the tapes.
I heard the buzz and silence of hovering doodlebugs through the window in my room. Through the window in my room, I also watched Wharf fight off several Borg.
I agree with you on the "olden fighter". I'm somewhat biased in that regard, hence my presence more consistanly manifesting itself in this Classic Forum than in the General Forum.
Born in '63, same year Ali & Liston fought. Makes me 44 soon to be 45. Nice to know there's some older gents who willing share their knowledge and wisdom.
