LOL, you think awesome is bad at 38? My dad still says "Dude", "Cool", "Awesome", and "Sweet" and he's 53.
..well, i was going to be cute and say the fellow who is seen waving the towell to keep Jeffries cool in his corner in the Johnson fight is me, or that around here I'd call Garfield "sonny"....but, what the hell. I'm 76. My grandfather saw Bob Fitzsimmons fight and he talked about boxing a lot when i was a kid. I remember vividly listening to Louis/Schmelling II on the radio and the Louis fights after that. (saw the films of both louis.schmelling a day or two after fight II) Got really interested in boxing when i was about ten. I've seen more fights than most of you guys here have even read about. Hey, I didn't say I knew more about them....i just said I've seen them!! I still learn a lot from a lot of the younger guys...which, it seems, is everbody but me. I've written about boxing over the years, but not lately, except on a forum or two.
Nice to feel like a kid again, with you here, a. I was raised in a family of fight fans, too. We were all glued to the radio for Joe Louis's bouts, or to see excerpts a week or two later in the Fox Movietone News at a local theater.
Yeah, happy birthday Senya! Would you believe it is 6 hours (my time) until mine? 27th November mate. I will be 38
That's funny, i let my gym membership slip 5 years ago and for the first time in my life the last 6 months i have indeed been feeling my age. Slowly got more and more out of shape. Waking up stiff and sore in the lower back etc. I felt like $1 000 000 when i was hitting that gym. I think it might be time to rededicate that's for sure. I'll make that the new years resolution :good
