Aside from Frankie Randall who handed chavez his first loss and Buster Douglas who shocked the boxing world defeating the baddest man in the planet, name other boxers who werent considered great during their time however managed to pull out magnificent one time performances in their careers????:think
I agree, Corrie Sanders the part time golfer, performed magnificently against Wladimir that night....:smoke
Grady brewer was huge last year. Gotta love a guy like him. turpin beating sugar ray robinson. Granted turpin is a helluva fighter nobody expected that at all. Henry cooper giving ali all he can handle Ricardo mayorga beating vernon forrest. Still dont understand that to this day
mayorga beating forrest was a case of too much machismo in vernon's part. He really wanted to prove that he could bang with mayorga:bbb Eerily similar to leonard vs duran. The big difference though was that leonard learned his mistake during their rematch whereas Vernon fell for the bait twice....
he really was out manned. But still the fire power forrest had should have still carried him through. Never before or after was i ever impressed by mayorga out side of his slick talking
Lamont Peterson against Amir Khan Fernando Vargas came out of the Felix Trinidad fight with his stock raised despite losing imo. I almost wanna say Shane Mosley against Antonio Margarito, because that may well have been the most punch perfect performance of Mosley's career, all the more impressive because it's sandwiched between his poor showings vs Mayorga and Collazo and the his last run against Pacquaio and Mayweather, he was a fighter on the slide before the Margarito fight, he was back to his best for 1 night, then he was shot again.
Franke Randall wasnt an average fighter,he won a few world titles and was a highly skilled world class fighter,Douglas wasnt average either, just lazy,Jason Litazu when he beat Caballero comes to mind..
